Meanwhile in an extremely dodgy looking tavern in Tortuga, the man known as Colin Beckett sat around a small table with some brut looking men. "Sparrow, Turner and Barbossa. Those are then men we have to avenge for Jones." A skinny tall man lent in "But what about Jones? I'm not doing his dirty work for him... he tried to take them on once before and look where he ended up." "Shut it. We're sailing to the end of the world to return him. Then the seas shall be ours." "How can you be sure Sir?" "Even the most stupidest of pirates won't continue without their shepherds." Colin said with a sadistic smile. "As for me... Sparrow is mine. I'll destroy him, just like he did my father."

On the deck of The Black Pearl that had began sailing an hour or two before, Thomas was still none the wiser about his position on board. "How are you doin' son?" Gibbs approached wiping his brow. "I'm ok. I'm looking for the crow's nest. Ruby said that's where they served lunch." Joshamee's eyes widened. Firstly at the thought of little Sparrow teasing his grandson but also that said grandson could be so foolish to believe that. "The crows nest is there!" Gibbs said loudly pointing up. "Oh, I hope they are still serving." Gibbs rolled his eyes and pulled Thomas to the side. "What's in your head boy? I thought you wanted to be on board a ship?" "I do, I am, am I not?" "You don't know the first thing about sailing!" Gibbs said exasperated, "No. Mother refused. She said it hurt too much knowing that's where you were and how cruelly it claimed father." "Ok listen here. I think you'll do well to remember this is a pirate ship. We're pirates but we are good men. You can loosen up a bit.... Listen in. Learn, you won't get far in this world with that naivety." Thomas nodded "I won't let you down grandfather." Gibbs nodded before sipping from his flask. He offered it to Thomas who took a large sip and returned it. "Now about lunch?" The young man asked.

Jack heard laughter and headed to the stern of the ship. He was shocked to see his daughter and carina sat on the railing dangling their legs dangling over. "Having fun are we?" Jack asked and Ruby was so shocked she fell backwards onto the deck with her legs in the air as Carina elegantly climbed down. "Yes thanks Dad. Are you?" "Ruby this is a working ship. A working pirate ship. That means all me crew. Family or not, work. Do you see your mother relaxing, sunning herself, no you do not." "Actually she's below deck. Her and Elizabeth are going through the hold looking at the gowns and jewels from the latest raid." Jack's eyes widened. "I knew that." He said hoping his daughter wouldn't catch on that he did not know the location of his wife. "Now where's that boy I put in your charge?" "He's on lunch." "He's on lunch? It's nigh on nightfall... where's he gone for it, Singapore?" "Nah I told him it was served..." Ruby had to stop from laughing. "I told him we serve it in the crow's nest. He's been wandering for hours asking where it is." Ruby giggled and Carina struggled to keep a straight face, it was pretty funny. Jack licked his lips. Some days he loved how alike his daughter was to him, but some days he didn't and today was one of those days. "Little Sparrow. Go find him, make sure he's eaten we don't want him fainting on us, and get some work done. You Barbossa, go find your father and tell him I want to see him in my cabin." Carina nodded and scurried off before Ruby slowly made her way down to the main deck, she turned and saw her father watching as she approached Thomas. Jack Sparrow approached Will who had the helm. "She told him lunch was served in the crow's nest... who does that?" Jack said smirking. "A child of yours Jack." Will said with a chuckle. "I guess our kids really are us in small form aren't they? I mean look at your boy. Has he wooed said strumpet yet?" Will smirked. "That's what you first asked me about Elizabeth." "Well, have you?" Jack said opening up his compass nonchalantly. "Baring in mind we are married and have a child, I'd say yes Jack I have." "Ahh well, you're welcome then." The captain said wandering off.

"So... you found lunch in the end?" Ruby said whilst dealing with some tangled rope. "Yes I did, no thanks to you Miss Sparrow." Thomas replied. "Look.. what did I tell you?" "Sorry.. Ruby." "A true pirate never says sorry.." the young woman replied. "I'm not a pirate.." Thomas said trailing off. "Are you not? You look like one? You are sailing under the command of the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow on the infamous Black Pearl... I'd say you're well on your way boy..." Ruby smirked. "Well my Grandfather did tell me I needed to loosen up a bit." Thomas said awkwardly. "I know just the thing..." Ruby said with a smile.

Much later on, Ruby and Thomas were tucked away in a corner of the deck sat leaning against the rails of the ship with two bottles of rum. "You're not half bad Gibbs I'll give you that." Thomas smiled. "Well you aren't awful either Sparrow." Ruby looked down at her bottle and smiled before taking a sip. "Tell me about that one.." Thomas said discreetly pointing to a member of the crew. "That's Scrum. He was crew on board the Queen Anne's revenge with Mama... I think Dad and him grew quite close during their voyage to The Fountain of Youth. I think he admires Papa." Ruby said proudly and Thomas nodded. "You've told me everything, about everyone, except yourself." Thomas turned his head and met Ruby's gaze. Their faces were merely an inch apart. Her eyes widened, "What about me?" She said biting her lip. "Tell me something nobody knows..." Thomas asked kindly.
