I groaned as I woke up in my hotel room, the aftereffects of last night's indulgence making themselves known. The headache throbbed in my temples, a reminder of the drinks I'd shared with Harry, Marianne, and Niall. With a heavy sigh, I pushed myself out of bed, feeling slightly queasy, and stumbled my way to the bathroom.
Splashing cold water on my face provided some relief, and I quickly grabbed my toothbrush, eager to get rid of the lingering taste of alcohol. My reflection in the mirror looked tired, and I couldn't help but wonder if I'd overdone it a bit.
Deciding that a morning shower was a necessity, I stepped into the bathroom and turned on the water. The warm spray enveloped me, and I closed my eyes, allowing the water to wash away the remnants of the night. Lathering my hair with shampoo, I relished in the familiar scent of my favorite product filling the steamy air. I was grateful that when I packed I remembered to bring all my favorite toiletries. The suds slid down my body, carrying away the sweat and alcohol that clung to my skin.
After a thorough rinse, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in a fluffy towel. With my hair left to air dry, I moved to get dressed, opting for a bikini, anticipating a day that might involve the pool or beach.
Feeling somewhat more human, I left my room and headed to Marianne's. However, upon opening the door, I found her room empty. I wondered if Marianne had ever returned from Niall's room last night, but I shrugged it off and I decided to head downstairs.
As I descended the staircase, the sound of a knock at the door caught my attention. Assuming it was Marianne returning, I walked over to open it, expecting her cheerful presence. However, to my surprise, Andrew stood on the other side, sweat dripping from his forehead, his expression filled with fear.
"What the fuck?" I exclaimed, confused and a bit annoyed as Andrew pushed past me without an invitation.
"Sorry," he muttered before collapsing onto the couch, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.
I couldn't help but feel worried as I approached him and asked what was wrong. At first, Andrew didn't answer, but when he finally looked up at me, his eyes held a deep concern. I pressed him further, urging him to share what had him in such a state.
"Can you keep this between us?" Andrew asked, his voice trembling, and I assured him that I would. He then hesitated before revealing, "I did something really bad, Lilah, something that might cost me my career."
"Go on," I said, cocking a brow up.
"I slept with Diana."
My face dropped, and a mix of emotions swirled within me. "You what?!" I exclaimed loudly, struggling to comprehend the gravity of what I was hearing.
"I know, I know," Andrew said, shaking his head in self-condemnation. He went on to explain how Diana had shown up at his door last night, drunk and angry about me spending time with Harry. One thing had led to another, and he admitted that Diana had initiated the intimate encounter, although he took responsibility for allowing it to happen. The next morning, Diana had threatened to tell Harry, blaming Andrew for everything.
I couldn't believe the mess we were now entangled in. While I was angry with Andrew for sleeping with Diana, especially given my recent encounter with him, I didn't voice my frustration. After all, we weren't together anymore, and I couldn't dictate his actions.
