IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS the pains washed away like it was never there thanks to the help of the lovely Miss Pomfrey.
I've also been thinking of joining the Ravenclaw quidditch team as a chaser but I know what you're probably thinking 'just join the chaser tryouts then you idiot' its not that easy for me atleast. And I did try for your information. Yesterday. I didn't tell George, Fred or Laurie. Which was a very very stupid mistake in my opinion. Oh I'm going to get bloody murdered.
I just escaped from detention and now I'm pacing through the corridors and stairs to the Ravenclaw tower. I would have visited the Gryffindor tower to see the twins. To see him.
Alas, I have no energy to walk all the way over to the other side of the castle. No, you have no energy facing the twins after trying out for the quidditch team when you swore you'd 'never waste your time on that stuff'.
I need sleep.
But of course someone had to stop me.
"Hello? Cora is that you?" a soft little girl's voice calls out. I turn to see Ginny Weasley strolling towards me.
"The one and only," I smile but I notice a worried look drawn on her face. "What is it? You seem a little worried.." noticing a book in her hands. Maybe a diary.
What does it say on the front? Before I could check she hid it behind her robes.
Don't worry ginny i'll find out sooner or later.
"I-im lost, I need to get to my dormitory. Can you help? Please?" She asks softly. This doesn't sound like Ginny, nor act like her. But after all she is a first year maybe she's nervous, and I can't refuse to help her even though I'm practically dying from the lack of sleep. Oh well.
"Alrighty then follow me gin," I chided, masking my annoyance of having to face the twins. The ginger girl follows me through the long winding hallways and the tiring stairs to the Gryffindor common rooms.
"Wattle bird," Ginny calls to the fat lady.
"Correct, you may come in," the fat lady huffed in annoyance. Same.
I follow Ginny into the common room as I finally find the courage to ask her. "Ginny, what is that book you're holding." I ask in curiosity. She turns to me with her eyes widened. She looks almost...scared?
I slowly reach out to her book but as soon as I do she pulls away and holds it against her chest. Luckily, I see the writing on the front. Tom riddle. No it can't be. She doesn't know what she's doing.
"Ginny, give me the book. Now," I demand. She doesn't budge. Does she even know who he is? I doubt she does. Before I could, I heard footsteps. Fred. I see him walking towards us.
"Ginny? Cora? What's going on?" He chimed.
"Nothing I-I was just dropping off your sister since she was quite lost," I grit my teeth eyeing her or whatever's in her mind.
"Oh alright then..would you—do you want to stay here or—" the carrot boy stammered not knowing what to say
"I have to uh go Laurie is gonna be worried yknow..yeah.."
"Cool cool... uh goodnight then..?" I can practically taste the tension.
"Yeah night-" I reply as I turn back to the portrait and disappear into the hallways.
The next morning I wake up early, earlier than Laurie, to have breakfast since I don't have the ounce of energy to even talk. I wasted it all from waking up.
I arrive at the great hall seeing a few people at my table. I sit and start piling my plate with pancakes. Sweet, fluffy, delicious pancakes. I start eating but someone joins the seat right by me, a boy. A Hufflepuff boy staring continuously at his lap. I finish chewing and I continue to side eye him finding the urge to ask him if he's okay.
