"Ela is dating"
"Like dating dating?" I asked. Seungmin nodded. My heart was broken into pieces.
"But there's a-" Seungmin stopped when he saw Hyunjin coming. He got detention too after all.
"Give a minute. Come with me" Seungmin whispered. I followed Seungmin. We were just far enough for Hyunjin to not hear.
"Ela isn’t dating Hyunjin," Seungmin said. I frowned. "Then who is she dating? Me?" I need to calm down. I'm getting frustrated for no reason.
He sighed. "Check her Instagram. Everyone is talking about her. Where were you?" Seungmin asked. I took out my phone,logged into Instagram and clicked on her story.
"What the fuck-" I shouted. Seungmin closed my mouth with his hands. Hyunjin looked at us from far,narrowing his eyes as if that'd help him to hear something.
"Don't yell. People will hear" he said,
He removed his hand. I looked at Ela's story again. I snorted. "What is she doing? What is this? This can't be true,right?" I asked Seungmin though I know this is what it is.
"I don’t know. I thought you were her best friend" He taunted. "So were you," I reminded him. He did agree with a nod. Seungmin looked at the photo that Ela shared.
Seeing this photo anyone who doesn’t know her would say 'how cute couple'. It looks like any other couple photo. Ela sitting beside a guy and the guy kissing Ela's forehead. Ela's eyes are closed,a smile on her face. And the caption declares that they are dating.
"I have detention. I don’t wanna be late" I told him. "I'll go home then." Seungmin announced.
"Did you try to reach her? Shouldn’t we talk to her at least?" Seungmin asked.
"I don’t know. I'm going now. Bye"
"Hmm. Text me later" I waved at him before going to the detention room.
I stopped, seeing a teacher already in the classroom. "May I come in?" I politely asked. I wasn’t late, it's just that the teacher was 5 minutes early.
"Yes." he replied, without bothering to take a look which I'm grateful for. Except for me and Hyunjin there were two more students.
I sat three benches away from Hyunjin. A standard distance for the room.
"I don’t get you guys! Where's your discipline? What on earth did you do?" The teacher suddenly shouted at a boy who was sitting on the second row.
"Sorry,sir." he had his head low. "What sorry? You are here literally everyday!"" he yelled at the guy.
"And you three!" The teacher looked at us. "If I see you guys tomorrow again,I'll personally complain to your homeroom teacher" he was literally steaming. It’s like I can see his head was boiling
"Do your homework" he looked a little calmer than before. "I'll be back in 5 minutes. Don't use your phone.If I catch you-" he stopped because his own phone was ringing. He picked it up. "Yes,Mr.Kim. I'm coming…. Yes.." he hung up before leaving the room.
As soon as he left I heard a tired sigh from the guy who was being scolded.
"y/n," I was stalared when I heard Hyunjin's voice right beside me. "What?" I asked as I took out my chemistry book. I don’t even know what the homework was.
"I'm sorry. You got detention for me" he apologized. "Do you know what homework we didn’t do?" I asked instead. He shook his head. "We didn’t have any," he confirmed.
