At dawn, Raymond received a call from Cooper. "I just got a call from the hospital. Eleanor is stable. Her injuries were critical, but she's going to make it. " "Thank you Harold." Raymond replied quickly. "By the way" Cooper said " I never got a chance to thank you. Your motives, though unorthodox, are effective and someone was brought to justice and many lives were saved." Raymond nodded and then asked "Am I able to see her?" "I'm sorry Raymond, but now is not a good time. She has a long recovery ahead of her. She will be in the hospital for quite some time. They are tracking down her family as we speak." "Her recovery is beyond physical," Raymond said in understanding. "I will call you with any updates. I promise." After they hung up, Dembe walked into the room. "You did the right thing Raymond. You may not think so now, but you did" he said quietly. "Letting her go was the only way she could be free." Raymond stood up promptly and put on his hat. As he straightened it out he said "I know you're right. At the moment, I have a hard time believing it."
