As Tommy and his band came on stage Sophia and I jumped up and cheered them on. We weren't the only ones, just the most enthusiastic. We sat down as they began playing. Tommy was amazing. His guitar playing was superior. He played it as though it were an extension of himself and it was beautiful to see. I loved how he lost himself in the music.

When they finished their set Sophia and I were on our feet again. They actually got a standing ovation from the club and they weren't even the main event!

After many long minutes Tommy finally came stumbling out from backstage. I jumped up and pulled him into a tight hug. He hugged back without hesitation.

"What'd you think?"

I smiled at him before sneaking in a quick peck,

"You were amazing glitterbaby."

He giggled,

"I'm glad you liked it."

We were staring into each others eyes too long apparently because I heard someone clear their throat next to us,

"So only he was amazing? That's pretty biased Adam."

I turned and saw the rest of the band. I smirked as a faint blush covered Tommy's cheeks. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and he melted into my side.

"You know he's the reason you guys make it."

I stated with a wink. They all laughed at that.

"Yeah, yeah. Honeymoon phase guys,"

Isaac said to the rest of the band,

"They'll get over it."

Tommy and I proceeded to stick our tongues out at him in unison which brought on another round of laughter from the band.

Tommy and I went to the bar to grab a drink while the others found a better table.

"Thank you for coming tonight, Adam."

I smiled down at Tommy as I intertwined out fingers.

"I told you I wouldn't miss it. I'm glad I get to meet your friends."

As we stood waiting for our drinks I felt a pair of eyes on us. I know Tommy felt it too because he started to get fidgety. I wrapped my arm around his waist protectively, I hated this feeling. I started discretely scanning the area for anyone who may be watching us. The person was not hard to find. We made eye contact and he was glaring at me.

I kept the surprise off my face and returned the look. I turned away from the guy and moved so the guy could not see Tommy from where he was. Tommy was facing the bar, his back to my chest. Tommy looked up at me as I wrapped my arms around his waist, unasked questions in his eyes.

"Some guy is watching us."

I whispered in his ear,

"What's he look like?"

I didn't turn back to look again but as I began to speak someone stepped up to the bar next to us. I looked over and saw the guy.

My arms immediately tightened around Tommy who saw the guy, immediately paled and tensed in my arms. Now this could not be good. I leaned down quickly,

"Don't be afraid. I'm here."

He met my eyes seemingly a bit comforted but there was still terror in his eyes.

I looked at the guy an looked him over. He was tall, broad, dark hair, bright eyes. He kept glaring us and I had had enough.

"What the hell is your problem?"

I blurted out, my tone hostile.

The guy did not take his eyes off of my very pale Tommy. I stepped in between them, pulling Tommy around behind me.

The guy then gave me his full attention.

"He's a friend of mine."

I kept my eyes on him but spoke to Tommy.

"You know him?"

Tommy's voice was barely above a whisper,

"Yes."

The guy smirked but I did not move.

"He said I was a friend, now move."

I stayed put,

"No, he said he knew you. Is he a friend?"

I felt Tommy clinging to my shirt and that was all the answer I needed.

"Well he's with me so fuck off."

I turned around and started to guide Tommy away when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I pulled away but I was not fast enough.

"I don't think so bitch."

He caught me square in the jaw, I only staggered a bit. He was a big guy and packed a punch, but so was I. I didn't like violence but I knew that he'd hurt Tommy if I didn't do something.

I pulled my arm back to swing at him but he backed away. I thought he was walking away because he had not expected me to fight back but I was so wrong. I turned toward Tommy, he yelled my name, I turned in enough time to deflect the blow. His hand now wrapped around the neck of a broken beer bottle. Unfortunately I did not deflect it completely and he cut my cheek.

Before I could counter the rest of Tommy's band appeared out of no where an got in between us. Monte, the bass player, grabbed the guy from behind. He struggled but it was useless. Monte was stronger. A couple of security guards had made their way over and took the guy away.

I looked back at Tommy who looked absolutely terrified. I walked up to him and pulled him into my chest.

"It's okay, Tommy."

He pulled away and looked at my face,

"No it's not. You got hurt because of me."

He turned my head gently to get a better look at the cut.

"It's nothing."

I assured him but I knew it was a wasted assurance. I could tell he did not believe a word of it.

"Tommy?"

He looked away from the cut and into my eyes,

"Who was that guy?"
