My jaw dropped, my eyes immediately filling with tears.

"Hey baby."

The same sly yet shy smile, those perfectly white teeth, same fluffy blonde hair, same stunning green eyes, my hands flew to my chest to keep my heart from leaping out of it,

"Clark."

His smile widened a bit even though his eyes were still sad. Without hesitation I pulled him into a tight embrace. He went willingly but did not relax into the hug like he had a lifetime ago. I cautiously pulled away,

"How?" I had to fight to keep my voice even. He took a deep breath, "You better get Tommy for this."

"How do you know about Tommy? How the fuck are you even here?!" I yelled angrily, a few tears slipping free, "I got to the hospital and you were dead," my voice was a whisper now, resigned and afraid, "I never even got to tell you I loved you one last time. You were just gone."

He reached out for my cheek but I flinched away, the reason being I thought of the way Tommy touched me that way when comforting me, Clark never did that. He hesitated before letting his hand fall back to his side.

I turned away, walking to Tommy's room. I knocked on the door,

"Glitterbaby?"

I heard some shuffling, "Is everything okay?" He slowly opened the door, looking over my shoulder to the front door. He looked back to me a questioning look in his eyes, "That's Clark."

He did a double take, "What the fuck?" I sighed, "My thoughts exactly." He looked at me sadly, "I'm so sorry Adam. I'm here for you; don't forget that." I smiled sadly before pulling him in for a soft kiss. I turned around to see Clark trying to look anywhere but at us. Tommy and I walked over to the couch and I motioned for him to sit in the chair across from us.

He hesitated momentarily before taking a seat. He stuck a hand out to Tommy, "It's a pleasure to meet you." Tommy did not take his hand, just stared at him before saying, "I'd say the same but it's really just a surprise."

Clark sighed, "So you've heard of me?" Tommy's eyes narrowed, "What the fuck do you think? Now are you going to tell us what the fucking hell is going on?" Clark sank back into the chair as I held Tommy's hand tighter.

"Well I'm most definitely not dead." I think he was going for humor but Tommy and I just stared at him. He sighed, running a shaky hand through his hair. "But I was, Adam. I swear I was dead."

I jumped out of my seat, still holding Tommy's hand, "Why the fuck should I believe that?!" Clark shrank back into the chair, "Adam," he insisted, "all I remember is headlights then I woke up in the morgue under the hospital." I wanted to believe him but how was I supposed to believe that? It was insane!

"Wait," Tommy blurted, "you didn't go to his funeral?"

I shook my head, "I wasn't invited. Clark's family did not approve of his 'lifestyle choices' and never included me. I never even knew when or where it was supposed to happen but apparently that's because it didn't." The last part was hissed, dripping with accusation and resent.

Tommy looked from me to Clark, "Why the hell didn't you call?"

Clark sighed, "I had no memory of that night. My family told me you had been on the walk with me and killed. They said your funeral had already taken place by the time I came around."

"That's convenient." Tommy muttered under his breath. Clark looked hurt but I ignored the comment. "So why didn't you call my family?" He looked resigned and just plain tired, "I tried. They thought it was some cruel joke and hung up every time."

I'd have to confirm that with my family. "So why are you here? If you thought I was dead how did you find me?"

He met my eyes and I really did not like the look in them, "Nick."

My blood ran cold. I looked to Tommy who's eyes were wide with fear, "H..How do you know him?" Tommy stammered. I sat down, wrapping my arm protectively around his waist.

"I met him a few months ago. He charmed me into being with him and now I'm stuck with him." Clark looked hurt and broken. Maybe this wasn't all a ruse. Maybe he was telling the truth.

I ran my hands through my hair, "Why are you here?"

He pushed himself off the chair an stood in front of us.

"To warn you. Nick hasn't backed down, he's more angry than ever."

Tommy's hold tightened on me as my arms tightened around his waist. I pressed a kiss to his shaking temple, "I won't let him hurt you baby."

I looked back to Clark, "I had to see you one last time, Adam." He whispered, "I'm leaving town from here. Nick doesn't know and won't until tomorrow. Just watch out. I can see you have a good thing here. Better than what we had."

His eyes sparkled at the memory of our past.

"I never stopped loving you Adam. I missed you every day. I still love you but I think I love you the right way now. I don't want to interfere with the life you have here. I just want you to be careful. Nick won't go down without a fight. He seems to think he owns Tommy. Just be careful."

He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to my lips before pressing a kiss to Tommy'a forehead, "I'm sorry you're in this mess," Tommy looked at him curiously, "but there's no better man to have in your corner than Adam." He smiled and headed to the door. He turned toward us, "Good luck guys." With one last fleeting glance, he was gone. Again.
