An Abnormal Day at the Ministry of Finance and Elsewhere

While they were in bed that night, Riki and Mitsuki laid next to one another, covered by the blanket. Mitsuki's pale skin shone in the light darkness of the room, and her body was a work of beauty unlike what most women living in the Human World had. The lucky man who got to see and touch those fine set of curves of hers was no one else but her husband and she loved him dearly. The distinct feature between them many people realized once they found out the two of them were married was the height difference. Anyone would be flabbergasted since Mitsuki stood at a height of a hundred forty-seven centimeters for someone her age—a big note on having a husband who's thirty-one centimeters taller than her.

Riki smiled and stroked the side of Mitsuki's back. "Am I a lucky guy or what? In all the years I've lived before meeting you, I would never have thought I'd end up with the cutest woman in the universe. The fact you declared your devotion for me proves I was right about choosing you to be mine." He let out a chuckle along with that mischievous grin of his. "If only I had enough energy to make love to you right now, but I shouldn't be too selfish as to hinder you from going on the missions, so I won't keep you away from them if you want to come along like you always do, Mitsuki."

Mitsuki pouted at Riki's playfulness. "Oh, not that again. You know you always have the vigor to have sex with me, Riki, and I'm not weak after every time we do it." Her facial expression changed to a solemn one. "Other than that, we should focus more on our missions than this for now. Takuto—for instance—should apologize for Rina's wrath and departure if he wants to put an effort into mending their friendship, yet we also have the situation with Sayuri to look into. I might as well check up on Takuji and Asuka tomorrow morning while you're at work. It'll allow us to find out what's going on their ends before we strategize and review any details for another mission."

"Sounds like it's a done deal," the leader of the Black Foxes commented with a slightly strained smile. "I'll leave it to you to find out more information for us so we can ask Takuto to help us get more clues on what's going on later. Though, I'm not sure if it'll work out properly."

A small smile appeared on Mitsuki's visage. "I'm certain things will be fine. In contrast to the current circumstances, it's rare to see a magician who isn't good at heart. If there ever comes a time when that happens, many of us will fight against whoever presents a threat, especially to the kingdom. Aside from everything else, Riki..."

Looking down at his wife's big, magenta eyes of gorgeous passion that were like the glossy joie de vivre from a pair of gemstones, Riki was content to hear his name being called. "Hm?"

Mitsuki's eyes seemed to continue to glitter with a shower of love as she said, "I love you."

That was more than enough for the both of them, as they swiftly shared a kiss while their embraced forms were stuck together like super glue, bathed by the gracious glow of the moonlight piercing through their bedroom window.

It was during the lunch break at the Ministry of Finance. At that time, a bunch of co-workers were having lunch with Riki; a circle formed his group of chums—most he had known for years. Nonetheless, they were still welcoming and wonderful to be with. The only thing was that Riki was perhaps the most ordinary person in the group, which was mostly filled with females. Not regular women, but magicians who had come from Neon. There were some males other than the handsome individual, so it wasn't so bad. Like the women, there were men who were magicians but one of them wasn't.
