BRIELLE
Mid-June brings the sweltering hot summer days, but beautiful summer nights. Throw in an occasional summer thunderstorm and it is the perfect mix of weather that makes for memorable days. Dad never lets up on the guys even when it is summertime, but we definitely make time to relax and enjoy the weather.
“Open up, handsome!” I knock on the bunkhouse door and holler at Mitch. He swings the door open and his face lights up. Very quickly he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me into his place while crashing his lips against mine.
“Sweet Mother Mary, what are you wearing and how can I get you to wear it every day?”
He takes my hand and makes me do a little twirl for him. I’m wearing dangerously short denim shorts and a bright teal bikini top. My hair is pulled back in a high ponytail and I don’t have much makeup on, only what was leftover from the day.
“It’s called a bikini because we’re going down to the lake.”
“We’re doing what?”
“It’s hot and the sunset is going to be straight-up gorgeous tonight. Throw on a swimsuit and let’s get going. Everybody is waiting.”
“Everybody?”
“My sisters, Granger, Charlie, and some of the other ranch hands will probably end up hanging out too.”
“So how about another idea is that I slide those short ass shorts off and take you onto my bed and make love to you a few times.” He peppers kisses all over my bare skin. It takes all my energy to pull away from him, but I manage to take a few steps back and put my hands up on his chest to push him away.
“No you don’t, Mitch. Come on, throw on a swimsuit, and let’s go. Please, please, for meeeee.”
I bat my eyelashes at him, learning real quickly that it was the way to get my way with him. He growls while leaning in for one more kiss and then heads into his bedroom area and comes out a few minutes later with a gray tank top and navy blue swim trunks. We take his truck because it is just easier, and when we get down there I see that Britt and Brooke are already in the water with Deacon and Jace.
Bev is lying out on the towel with Charlie. She’s got her nose in a book and he has his in his cell phone. Granger is sitting on the dock with his feet in the water, he looks like he’s a lifeguard, looking over everybody.
“See we’re late,” I pull his hand to get him down there quicker.
“That just means we could have been later and it would have been no big deal.”
“It’s like you just have one thing on your mind.”
“It’s hard when I’ve got the most beautiful woman ever in my life by my side.”
“Well, they’ve already seen us so we can’t leave now. I guess the only choice is to enjoy the evening with me.”
“Fine, you’re persistent.”
We make it down to the water where everybody is and say our hellos. I toss our towels down and kick off my boots. Mitch watches me intently as I unbutton my denim shorts and pull them off. I can tell he’s starting to get aroused and I can’t help but giggle. I blow him a kiss and turn around to the water.
I get about ankle-deep in the water when I hear him hit the water and then sweep me up off my feet and into his arms bridal style. I squeal, even though I know it is him, and when he gets about waist-deep in the way I brace myself, knowing what he’s about to do. Sure enough, he tosses me and I just barely get my lungs filled with water before I splash underwater.
