chapter 4: training with gramps

Arthur Leywin Pov:

"ART! WAKE UP!" Tess exclaimed while pinching me.

"OUCH OUCH I'M AWAKE!" I screamed. it was morning and apparently Tess was trying to wake me up with violence that I noticed the hard way. I looked around to be met with Tess sitting on me?

"you're finally awake. come on breakfast is almost ready" Tess said while getting of me. she ran to the door, but before she went away she turned around to meet me in the eye while smiling brightly "don't take to long okay?" she asked me. "I try to be as fast as I can, princess" she looked at me while pouting. I laughed a little at her reaction before she closed the door to go downstairs. I went to take a bath, dried myself up and changed into new clothes.

Before I went downstairds Regis jumped out of me to stretch a little."quiet the position you were in with Tess" Regis teased. I turned a little red thinking about it while Regis was just laughing. "really funny Regis, will you stay here or come with me?" I asked him.

"I will stay here because I don't want to float around your core and here I can gather a little aether even though it isn't much" Regis said. "don't try break something while i'm gone" I said while opening the door. before I could go Regis asked me something "hey, you won't make her wait this long like before right?" I was kinda shocked hearing this from him. deep down I know Regis cares deeply about his friends. even though he hasn't met Tess one on one he knows that I love her, that I will protect her with my life, afterall Regis is mostly made of me and party sylvie.

"i'm planning not to make her wait all that time like in the last timeline, but I will wait a year or so, so that she can grow feelings for me and that I won't come to hasty on her" I said looking at Regis in the eyes.

"I guess your right" Regis said, while laying down on the bed. After that I went to the hall were we talked about the incident. The maids had already prepared food and saw that everyone was eating

"Brat, Eat your food, you're already late" gramps said. I scratched my cheek, a little embarresed before saying "sorry I'm a deep sleeper"

Gramps laughed while Tess nodded, agreeing with me. the maids had prepared eggs and bacon, something I had a lot of times, but still tasty. after I had eaten my food gramps stood up "come with me brat, training starts now" he said while waiting for me to follow him. I stood up and followed him to the backyard.

"so what are we gonna do" I already knew that I'm gonna try to assimelate with my beast will, but I just asked because you already know why.

"what you're gonna do is try to assimelate with your beast will, how that works is you grab some mana of your beast will and you need you need to spread it across your mana channels" he said. I nodded in understanding. I went down in a meditate position. I also saw that Tess also joined to watch me try to assimelate with my beast will. after I got in position Gramps decreased his height to touch my back "i'm gonna insert some of my mana to you, its gonna feel a little warm but nothing bad. after that you can start the proces yourself" I nodded with my eyes closed. I suddenly felt a warm feeling. I saw this note to start spreading the mana across my body, seeing the mana move was a good sign, but it felt different, like the mana belonged to me? not only that the mana is moving a lot faster than in the last timeline.

about a hour has past and gramps was training with Tess on her close combat with a sword, eventhough she hasn't awakened she still could improve her technique. I stood up and gramps noticed this. "you're already done? hows the progress going?" He asked stopping the training with Tess. "quiet well actually, the progress is going faster than I initially thought" he looked at me with a kind of a shocked face I think "what are you're talking about it's supposed to be very slow, come here for a minute" after he had said that I went to him. he dropped to meet me at eye level and placed his hands on my sternum. his eyes widened and looked at me with confusion but also baffled. "just what kinda beast did you end up getting it's will from?" he asked me hoping to get answers

"I will give you the answers another time" hoping it satisfies him or now. it wasn't really a lie and I already trust him but like I already said earlier it's best to wait a while. "if i'm correct you will completely assimelate with you will in about a year I would guess." I was kinda shocked to hear that it will take 2 years less, but on the other hand it did kinda made sense. the mana felt like it was part of my own i'm assuming it's because I got the dragon body of sylv and got the will of her mother.

after our little break we started to train again. for me it was just meditating, Tess and gramps however were sparring again. I went about half a hour meditating. after that Tess went up to me "art! I want to go outside again with you" Tess exclaimed, hugging my arms really tight. "fine, but only if you let me go" I said Tess looked at me happily before she yelled "YAY, hurry up! we'll met in about half a hour at the entrance" running away to her room. I started going to my room. I opened the door to see Regis sleeping on my bed. I went to take a shower thinking about the rest of the day and that i'm surprisingly excited to go outside with Tess. I dried myself up and got out of the shower.

"I see that you're quiet excited about your date?" he said, I put some new clothes on before answering him. "it isn't a date Regis were are just going to have fun and were you not sleeping just now?" Regis started to stretch a little after he was done he answered me "I was, but you left your thoughts easily readable and isn't having fun with a girl outside a date?". he said.  "having fun with someone isn't always a date Regis" I said back to him. "with a girl it is" he said, I just sighed at his remarks, knowing that it was somewhat true.

I left my room making my way to the entrance of the castle, standing there I saw Tess making her way to me. she was wearing a white dress that was coming to her knees, a band that went around the dress on her stomach area, she was beautifull to say the least. I felt my face getting a little warmer I wanted to touch my cheek to feel the warmth, but was interrupted by gramps. " liking what you see brat?" he remarked with a grin. "GRAMPS!"  "GRANDPA!" Tess and I screamed at the same time. He laughed a little before Tess pulled his beard. "DON'T SAY SUCH THINGS!" Tess exclaimed while being a little red. I chuckled a little "Tess come on let's go I don't think you want me to wait right?" I said. she let loose of gramps and turned to me. "alright, let's go art" and so we made our way to the city.

"so what do you want do yo Tess?" I asked her. she seemed to be in thought for a short while before coming to a answer. "I know! let's go to the bakkery they have sweet things there!" she said. "okay, let's go then" I said while we made our way to the bakkery. once there I saw al the delicious pastry available. "they look so tasty I said" I said. I heard Tess chuckling, I turned to her to see why she was laughing. "why are you laughing?" I asked her. "oh nothing, it's just my first time seeing you be this awestruck" I didn't really think awestruck was the right word, but she was kinda right. "so what will it be for the two of you" I heard a manly voice say. I turned to the person who said that and saw a rather well build man. he weard a hat so I couldn't really make out of his hair. he also had a gently face. "hmm two cinnamon buns please" Tess said. It wasn't the thing I would have chosen, but still went with it. "two cinnamon buns coming right up!" he said. Tess and I waited 5 minutes before he came back with the buns. "here they are, enjoy them" he said, placing the buns so that we could pick them up. "thank you" Tess and I said in unison. "no problem and come back again" he said. Tess and I picked the buns up and went further with our stroll to he city. Feyrith and his lackeys or friends, I don't really know what they are to him, also joined us. after a while Feyrith challenged me to a duel again and he lost. I also heard that his friends call him feyfey so I will call him that to. 

much time has passed and Tess and I were sitting in front of a lake. Feyrith and his friends needed to go home so that left Tess and me together. The lake was beautifull,  wuth the light reflecting on it giving it some sort of mesmerizing glow. "I had alot of fun today" I said. I saw a smile forming on Tess her face. "me too" she said. she leaned on to my shoulder getting a smile out of my face, we enjoyed this moment for a little till it was getting late. "it's getting late Tess, we should go" I was standing up trying to reach my arm to Tess so she could stand up but before I could I was interrupted.

"you should hurry up before the king get's angry"

a/n yes I know I am like a week to late because I was busy this week and with the free time I had I didn't want to complete this chapter. you can call me lazy, but don't care. on the goodside I have 1 week break from school so I can post a chapter or two this week or atleast 1. now I also wanted to say thank you for reading this ff. this ff has already reached 200 reads in 3 chapters. I don't know if that is much but that doesn't matter i'm still gratefull. now see you guys next time.
