"Have you heard from Y/N?" Dean has concern etched all over his face.
"Not since she left for New York, I'm surprised she hasn't messaged you yet" Sam's voice coming out slightly shocked "You asked Bobby if he's heard from her?"
"On it" Dean says automatically dialling Bobby's number.
"Dean" Bobby answers.
"Have you heard from Y/N at all?" Dean tries his best to keep his voice cool.
"Not for a couple days now why?" Bobby replies.
"Oh nothing I'm sure she's just too busy having fun with her brother and the others" Dean tries to brush it off, the last thing he wants to do is to worry Bobby.
"Dean we both know she would text you when she arrived somewhere. The fact that she hasn't means something has possibly happened to her" concern now filling his voice.
"Look Bobby let's not panic. I'm sure she just got distracted with the team they can be full on, but I will also get Sam to call around see if anyone has heard from her. I will keep you posted okay. Can you ask Jodi?" fear now filling Dean.
"Was going to call her as soon as I hung up with you. I will let you know" Bobby says before hanging up.
It wasn't like you not to check in with him, it's the number one rule you both have with each other.
"This isn't like Y/N and you know it. She always checks in with at least one of us, she reinforces it Claire and us the time. I don't have Clint's number to call him if she's there" Dean starts to panic now.
"Okay Dean you need to stay calm, freaking out isn't going to help us find Y/N. Lets look through the news and see if anything would've caught her attention on the way to New York. We know she couldn't resist a hunt if she saw one" Sam says as he opens his laptop and begins searching.
"Here look" Sam says swivelling the laptop round to Dean.
"This is something that definitely would've taken Y/N's interest."
Dean begins to read the articles.
"Shit yeah you're right, okay let's grab what we need and hit the road." He sighs frustrated that you didn't ask for help with this one.
As they make their way to where your possible last known location is, they spot your car sat abandoned.
"Guess I was right" Sam sighs.
"Let's go find her" Dean climbs out of baby before popping the trunk and taking what they need from it.
They enter the abandoned warehouse carefully before coming across the room that has you tied up.
"Y/N" Dean whisper shouts before running across the room to get to you.
"Is she alive?" Sam asks while keeping an eye on their surroundings.
Dean feels for a pulse and is relieved when he feels one.
Just as he unties you, your eyes snap open.
"Y/N" Dean says softly.
"Am I still dreaming?" You ask not sure what's real or not anymore.
"No baby this is real. I'm here with you" Dean goes to pick you up bridal style.
"Dean look out" Sam shouts as the Djinn attacks.
He knocks Sam out the way and the blade dipped in lambs bloods slides across the room.
Deans places you down quickly before the Djinn pins him against the wall.
It takes a moment for your instincts to kick in before you move to grab the blade and go to attack, but the Djinn is faster and grabs you by the neck making you drop the blade.
Thankfully Sam is right there to pick it up and stab the Djinn, just as Dean catches you as your body goes limp.
"I got you" Dean says scooping you up into his arms.
"I don't know what's real" you whisper before you pass out.
You wake up from a nightmare trying to catch your breath.
"Hey hey it's okay" Dean pulls you into his arms.
"Tell me something is your dad alive?" You ask even though it will probably hurt him to answer, but you need to know if this is real or not.
"No he's not he died trying to save me remember" Dean strokes your hair. He's all too familiar with what you are going through.
"This is real then" you let out a sigh as tears begin to fall.
"It's real" Dean smiles wiping your tears.
"What were you thinking" Sam asks after a moment of silence.
"I saw the article and thought I could help guess I didn't research enough. It was dumb I know but I'd got use to being alone" you snuggle closer into Dean.
"You should've known better than to go in there blind and alone. You should've called someone for backup or more information of what you were dealing with" Dean says while placing a kiss on your forehead.
"I know I'm so sorry I shouldn't have worried you all like that" you squeeze your eyes shut not able to look at them.
You hate letting them down.
"I just wanna go see Clint" you whisper.
"Okay" Dean sighs and you finally untangle yourself from him.
Dean drives you to the Avengers tower while Sam follows in your car, the entire journey is spent in silence.
As you pull up to the tower you get out and run towards Clint before crashing into him with a tight hug.
"You're alive" you whisper as tears begin to fall again.
"Of course I'm alive" Clint replies confused.
He pulls you back and wipes your tears before he looks over at Sam and Dean who are by the cars.
"What's going on?" He asks softly.
"I just had a bad dream that's all but it felt so real" you sniff.
Obviously you can't tell him the truth of what's actually happened you're not ready to share your life of hunting just yet.
He pulls you back in for a hug taking whatever you are happy to give him right now.
"Can I stay here a couple of days" you ask not wanting to be near Dean or Sam right now after what you saw in the dream.
"Of course you can, why don't I take you to meet the kids and Laura tomorrow?" He asks.
"Really?" You sound surprised and nervous.
"Of course you're my sister it's about time they met you" he smiles down at you.
"I would really like that" you sniff and smile back.
You can feel a set of eyes on you and look to see Steve stood in the distance watching.
Maybe it wasn't the best of ideas to come here but you need time to clear your mind.
Facing Bucky and Steve would probably be hard but it was needed as well.
"I'm just going to say bye" you say releasing yourself from Clint's hold and walking over to Dean and Sam.
"I'm going to stay with Clint for a couple of days. I'm going to meet his kids and wife" you say nervously.
"Do you think that's a good idea I don't want to put them in danger" you ask now suddenly unsure if you should or not.
"It will be fine Y/N" Sam tries to reassure you.
"You sure?" You start to fidget just as Dean grabs your hands and brings you in for a hug.
"Sam's right it will be fine" he kisses your head and you take a moment to just breathe him in.
"Yeah you're right. Plus after this I'm going to be extra vigilant. I'm sorry again for making you worry"
"Just don't do it again" Dean says before pulling you back and kissing you tenderly.
"I won't" you say after you break the kiss. "I just need a couple of days to clear my head and then I will come back to the base" you say turning to hug Sam.
He hugs you before cupping your face so you have to look at him.
"If you want to talk about it you can" he reassures you.
You nod.
"I know but please let me just sort my own thoughts first but I can't promise I will share what I dreamed of"
"It couldn't have been that bad" Dean says but you don't respond.
That dream made you have conflicted feelings, was it something you wanted to possibly come true one day?
To have a baby?
But the life of hunting is way too risky to bring a child into so you know it's probably won't become a reality.
You just need some time to clear your thoughts and try everything to forget about that dream world.
Meeting Clint's family will hopefully provide the perfect distraction because you couldn't help but feel nervous.
