Dumbledore belief regarding the cursed in the position of D.A.D.A is slowly wavering, he thought before that it was merely a harmful cursed, since Quirell the last professor was gone because of legitimate reason, but what of Lockhart?.
In his first day, his already lying on the floor, his life and death were unknown, and according to the result of the test conducted by Madam Pomfrey.
It is likely he was hit by a cursed, not an ordinary one, a cursed mostly used by Death Eaters, which puzzled and confused Dumbledore.
He was out of Hogwarts when the incident happened, and mostly, his attention was drawn by young Harry, so he didn't know what happened and who did such an insidious thing.
"Albus, have they infiltrated Hogwarts secretly?" Professor McGonagall voiced out her concern.
"It is impossible, yet we can not rule out such idea, what have you found,
the students, have they seen anything?" Dumbledore asks.
McGonagall shook her head.
"None, all of them only heard scream and found the unconscious Lockhart on the floor." Minerva stated.
Dumbledore lay back on his chair and contemplated.
"Who was the first person to discover or see the body?" Dumbledore asks again.
Professor McGonagall seemed to think deeply before she answered, and her eyes narrowed as she looked at Dumbledore.
"We don't know, but two students came and reported what happened with haste," Minerva said.
"Two students.......who?" Dumbledore murmured.
"A Ravenclaw and a Slytherin," Minerva said.
And Dumbledore eyes seemed to shine with light, which for some reason Minerva don't like.
"Who?" Dumbledore asks.
Minerva looks deeply at Dumbledore and answers.
"Young Mr. Boot, and Mr. Nott, " Minerva said.
Dumbledore seemed to be deep in thought.
"Albus, you're not thinking that one of the students did this, right?" Minerva asks in a bad feeling.
"We can not rule out such possibility," Dumbledore answered.
"That's preposterous Albus!, a student couldn't possibly do such a horrible thing!!" Minerva defended the students because she truly cannot think that one of her students can use such horrible spells on someone.
"I once thought like you and look what I have created," Albus said with melancholy and regret in his tone.
McGonagall becomes quiet.
Silence ruled the whole room for a while when Dumbledore finally made his decision.
"Search their wands, every Ravenclaw and Slytherin students who last attended the class of professor Lockhart before he was attacked," Dumbledore said with utmost certainty.
Minerva sighed and nodded heavily, she hopes Albus was wrong in this one.
In the dimly lighted lounge of the Slytherin, sitted in silence, Daphne Greengrass, Draco Malfoy, Millicent Bulstrode, Pansy Parkinson, Theodore Nott, Blaise Zabini, Crabbe, and Goyle
"What is the last spell you used?" Daphne broke the silence.
"A light charm from Professor Filtwick's class," Pansy answered immediately.
Daphne nodded and looked at the others.
"A levitation charm, I've been practising," Bulstrode said.
"So I reckon that we all have different spells that we last used," Daphne said.
