Athanasia felt a bit off, her mind straying at her conversation with Dumbledore, looking at the snow slowly dropping from the sky and at the barren whiteness of the ground.
Athanasia felt empty, like she was back at the Pevrell Manor, in the dark compartment laying in her mother's cold table, full of wires and many things that have anything to do with making her feel pain.
Ginny Weasley woke up early in the morning as she walked to the hall of hogwarts. Her eyes caught a figure outside, standing in the cold snow. Who in their right mind would stand in the middle of snow with nothing but a sleeveless shirt and a pyjama?! Ginny thought, she's shivering in cold, and doubled her sweater and scarf, but the person seemed numb to cold or is it stupid?!.
When Ginny got nearer and nearer, the figure became more and more familiar. The silver golden hair that was always well kept was now messy, as if it hadn't been combed, her eyes as beautiful and clear as the sky and blue as the ocean, and brighten up like crystal now looks empty and hollow, as if she was not the perfect girl Ginny saw everyday in the halls of hogwarts.
Ginny didn't know what to say, looking at the girl's lifeless eyes and its vulnerable figure. She had the urge to hug the girl and tell her that everything's gonna be fine.
The girl seemed lethargic and didn't react to her presence, which kinda, for some reason Ginny felt irritated, because Athanasia Pevrell always see her even in a crowded room, she can always spot her presence and figure, and now they were this closed and the girl seemd to be in another world.
"Ehem, do you have a habit of bathing in snow early in the morning, Pevrell?" Ginny said, but her words came our sarcastic than she would like.
Now, Athanasia seemed to snap out of her own little world and looked at her in surprise and confusion.
"Or do you think Harry would pity you when he saw you sick in bed?" Ginny remark.
"Maybe he will, after all, the whole school know, Harry Potter care for me." Athanasia responds this time, and her words infuriated Ginny.
"You! You're shameless. How could you harm yourself just for Harry to look at you? Have you no pride?!" Ginny spat.
This time, her words amused Athaansia. She didn't even remember the fact that she felt empty a while ago, as if her feelings automatically restarted and found its battery.
"Things we do for loved...." Athanasia replied, but her thought strayed to the figure of another, that she's not even hearing Ginny's words, Athanasia wonders, did her mother ever love her? Or is she just one of her experiments? The answers she didn't want to know, but it continuously bug her.
Ginny breathed in and out and looked at the girl who looked like she didn't hear a single thing from her.
"Remember this! I will never let Harry be with you!! Not to a snake and liar like you! Harry is better off. No, everyone is better off without you in their life!! All you do is manipulate people!!" Ginny spat venomously, but when the words came out of her mouth, she actually regretted it for a second when she saw the numb looked in Athansia's eyes.
Athanasia chuckled at the little kitten's words, it looks like the kitten became a mind reader, to think that she voiced out what she felt, indeed, her little kitten was right, she was better off alone, and anyone is better off without her in their lives, bad luck is the only thing she brings.
"Well, we both could agree with that, but what can I do? Everyone would rather be more miserable than be without me, you cannot fault me for being desirable kitten..." Athanasia said cheekily.
Ginny was speechless to her words. The girl truly had ways to get under her skin.
Ginny gritted her teeth in anger and turned around to leaved but then she stopped and went back to Athanasia, took off her scarf and threw it to the girl, and left.
