Taylor crept almost silently into y/n's room whilst she slept, peacefully. Taylor paused to watch the gentle rise and fall of your chest. It brought her such comfort seeing you in such a tranquil state. You laid with a fluffy duck plushie in your tight but sleepy embrace. She smiled to herself, seeing the big fluffy duck, a similar size as your torso, pulled into such a tight hug. It was such a shame she was about to ruin this moment...

"y/n/n, honey," She crouched her 5'11 self down to the level of your bed, which was slightly painful to do. She brushed a stray blonde strand of hair from her face. "y/n.."

y/n tossed in her sleep softly, mumbling something to herself, half-asleep. Taylor found it so adorable she almost contemplated letting you sleep for a little longer, in visible awe.

"y/n/n," she said a little more loudly, kissing the top of your head. "you need to wake up, darling." Taylor stroked your hair gently before shaking your shoulder a little.

[y/n's pov]

"h-hm? what..?" I murmured, still a bit drowsy as her voice blurred into earshot. "what is it...?" I could barely get my words out, I was so unbelievably tired. I'd stayed up well past midnight the last night, talking to my best friend, Ruby about the most random shit ever.

"You need to get up now," Taylor sighed, stroking my cheeks with her warm hands and loving persona. She sat gently on the edge of the bed and stroked my hair.

"Momma, im still so tired..." I groaned into my pillow, with a grumpy facial expression. "Where are we even going, mom?"

Taylor rolled her eyes. "America, obviously. We've only been packing for the past two weeks?" She sighed, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

I shot up from my bed and a small smile crept across my lips. "I thought we left of Tuesday!" I beam, excited to be going back to America.

Taylor rolled her eyes, playfully. Typical y/n to forget what day of the week it is.
"Baby, it is Tuesday." She let out a small giggle and ruffled her daughter's messy bed-hair.

The family (and by the family, I mean y/n and Taylor,) gathered all their bags and flung them into the back of the car. Today's mode of transport was the signature black BMW four by four. y/n settled herself in the passenger seat and connected her phone to the Bluetooth.
'Hits Different' came on first, and a grin appeared on y/n's face.

"Ready to go, baby?" Taylor turned to face me, brushing some of my hair out of my face with a genuine smile.
I glanced nervously out of the window, back towards the London house we were just about to leave.
"Did you pack Arizona?" I asked slowly. Arizona was my yellow duck plush who I couldn't sleep without.
Taylor kissed my forehead, comfortingly, with a smile.

"How could I forget?" she rubbed my shoulder, confidently. "We have everything, y/n, I promise."
The car rumbled to a start as she started driving down the street.
"WAIT!" I cried desperately, receiving a 'really?' look from mother, Taylor as she slammed on the brakes frustratedly.

I gazed into the rear view mirror, the large London house reflected in it. "I umm, uhh..did we..I, uh."

"y/n swift-lautner. Is there something you'd like to tell me?" Taylor said slowly and a little sternly, looking into my y/e/c eyes.

I let out a small sigh. "it's fine, let's go." My eyes watered a tiny bit. Not enough to cry, but not enough to hide my tears.

"You don't want to leave, do you?" Taylor whispered, soothingly. "I understand, y/n... but we'll come back, I promise. We're not leaving for good," Taylor shot me a soft and genuine smile. "I promise, angel."

I had never been away from this house for more than a few months at most while on tour, or I'd stay at grandma Andrea's house<3 But never for (nearly) a whole YEAR...

Mom began driving towards the freeway, and I anxiously watched the house fade away from view.
I missed it already. I missed the smell of mom's room. I missed my bean bags by my tv. I missed the teddies scattered across the hammock in my room.

Taylor could sense my discomfort, and so by motherly instinct she squeezed my hand. "Hey, y/n?"
I peered up at her, as calmly as i could.
"everything's going to be fine." She said, stroking my shoulder before putting her hand back on the wheel and driving down the freeway on the way to the airport.
