your best friend was ricky, rose's brother. you were in his room, playing his xbox together. you were playing some car game he was begging to play against you. you were doing a race together, which he won.
"you're an asshole." you say as you put the controller down.
"i'm an asshole because i beat you?" ricky chuckles.
"yeah. that was my first time playing. don't let this boost your ego too much."
"whatever you say." he replies, going on his phone.
"fuck you. i'm getting food." you say as you stand up, going over to his door. he just laughs at you.
you make your way to the kitchen and get a bowl of cereal. you lean on the counter as you eat the cereal and go on your phone. a few minutes later, the front door opens. rose walks in with a girl you've never seen before. she has red hair and is really beautiful.
"hi, y/n." rose smiles as she puts her purse on the counter.
"hey, rose." you look over to her friend who's looking at you with a shocked expression, "who's your friend?"
"that's sadie." rose answers.
"hi." sadie says with a small smile.
you stare at her for a split second, "hi." you hold eye contact with her before she looks at the floor.
"where's ricky?" rose asks.
"in his room. when you see him, tell him he's an asshole." you say as you pick up your finished bowl of cereal, taking it to the sink, and rinsing it.
rose laughs, "yeah, i will."
you start walking to the bathroom that's right next to the kitchen. before you leave, you nod at sadie, "nice to meet you."
"yeah... you too."
you smile before going into the bathroom. you look into the mirror at yourself, just to check things, when you hear sadies voice.
"who... is that?"
"my brother's friend... why?" rose answers.
"i've never seen her before."
"yeah, because she's always in his room. i swear they're hibernating. they spend like every day together."
"huh..." sadie stares off into space.
"what?"
there's a second of silence, "nothing." sadie says.
"no, there's something, what is it?" rose presses.
"she's like... kinda cute."
you furrow your eyebrows before smirking to yourself.
"what? ew gross. don't say that, she's like a sister to me." rose laughs.
"you asked!" sadie exclaims.
"so... are you gonna do something about it?" rose asks.
"are you kidding? when have i ever made a move?"
you decide you're gonna leave the bathroom now and act like you didn't hear that whole conversation. you open the door and look at both the girls. they're looking at you with wide eyes. you just leave and go back to ricky's room without another word.
you burst open his door, "dude, dude, dude."
"what, what, what?" ricky exclaims.
you close his door and go over and sit on his bed, "do you know sadie?"
