Benjamin thought it'd be okay spending some of his time with Mammon, but he realized halfway that he severely underestimated just how difficult it is to keep a conversation with the Sin of Greed.
Mammon's not one for idle talks. In fact, he doesn't like speaking at all when necessary and always looks like he's got a stick up his ass.
Benjamin's given up on talking to him now. He thought it'd be like before when Mammon would at least try to respond back, but it's worse in Benjamin's opinion when all his replies were dry and curt. Not that Benjamin expected anything different, but it's a complete contrast to when he's with the other sins.
And he really didn't know what he expected when he was brought under Mammon's wing.
Turns out, there's not a lot of privacy when it came to Mammon. The demon was severe in watching over him.
For the next few days, after school Benjamin would go down to Hell and do his duties in Beelzebub's council. As usual, Beelzebub would dote on him as the others would and they'd talk various topics.
Most of them are something he can't understand. They're being spoken in a strange dialect, something Benjamin knew was ancient and had been lost through time.
Or perhaps it never even came upon human kind before. Either way, Benjamin hardly understood what anyone was saying and simply kept quiet, sitting beside Dagan, who merely grumbled to Benjamin about how he still shouldn't be here.
But after everything was done, Benjamin hardly had time to speak to anyone once Mammon came and stole him away. They would go out and Benjamin would be taken directly over to Mammon's domain, a place that's entirely out of the capital with no other demon lords around to bother them.
It had scared him at first. Mostly because of how massive Mammon's territory was. From what the others have said, it was slightly larger than the capital of Hell itself, making it one of the largest domains a demon would have.
It had to be anyways considering just how substantial and vast Mammon's demons were.
Mammon even had small provinces, each of them accustomed to holding specific demons.
When Benjamin arrived, he still couldn't get used to the sight of thousands of demons in front of him. The territory was too different from any other he's seen before. All around him was nothing but an air of draconian laws and harsh ruling, and every single demon was subjected to certain trainings that were clearly made for war.
The buildings here was something he hasn't seen before either. They're made of extremely hard and durable material, something that humans haven't even seen before so it's not like he knows the name of it. He thinks they're like houses, but he hasn't seen any demon go in to rest.
In a way, Mammon and Belphegor were similar even if they contrasted each other greatly. Mammon was built out of oppressive order and what he deemed was "natural law", while Belphegor never stood by any rules whatsoever and said that everything was "fair game" as long as someone gets killed.
But still, they don't let their demons sleep.
Even after being here for days, Benjamin couldn't get accustomed to seeing the sight of hard armor and cruel expressions these demons had. All of them walked in a similar fashion, fought in a certain way, and definitely embodied Mammon's silent nature so no one even talked.
It's unnatural. Benjamin doesn't feel safe here.
He looks up at the demon by his side though and scoots closer.
Sunny, now his escort, makes no change in expression. But he does give a brief look down to Benjamin before looking back up at what used to be his home.
