Benjamin thinks the sleepover went pretty well.
Although he bumped into Belial, Beelzebub reassured the human that he wouldn't dare go around telling other demons about Benjamin's whereabouts. It relieved him honestly, to know that he didn't need to watch out for anyone trying to snatch him up.
But other than them completing almost all of the Disney Princess movies, with Mulan still at the top of Beelzebub's favorite, Benjamin grew weary and wanted to sleep.
Which was the first problem he came across.
He usually doesn't sleep. He tries to and gets a few hours in, but Benjamin gets nightmares from time to time and grows restless under the covers. Which is why he was adamant on sleeping in a different room.
Beelzebub didn't like that idea. He preferred heeling Benjamin right beside him and patted the empty spot on his bed, urging for Benjamin to hurry and get in.
It was... nice, Benjamin thought. He should've been weirded out by the fact Beelzebub kept a possessive grip around him, but he thinks it was nice to be held by someone so securely. Makes him feel somewhat small, like he found someone reliable.
Although the peace didn't last for too long when Benjamin suddenly woke up to find Beelzebub sitting straight up from the bed, eyes wide and in a complete daze as the demon stared straight at the wall in front of them.
Beelzebub looked like he was in a trance. There were things he kept muttering under his breath, something completely low and in a different language Benjamin hasn't heard of before. He tries not to think too much about it, but he saw the demon twitch every so often, growing jerkier with each passing minute as if he was going through some sort of seizure.
It was scary to see Beelzebub like that, with no thoughts behind his eyes in complete darkness as the demon kept murmuring out a chant.
And then he placed a hand on Beelzebub's shoulder, his grip shaky, but it still managed to grab Beelzebub's attention. Though he jolted, like he just woke up from an intense dream and frantically looked around until he found Benjamin practically cowering away.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Beelzebub rasped, a little disoriented.
Benjamin quietly replied, "You were talking to yourself... a-are you okay?"
The Lord of the Flies didn't say anything for a while. Instead, he laid a hand on Benjamin's chest and was careful not to nick him with his sharp nails. He pushed the human back down on the bed, tiredly smiling down at him.
"Go back to sleep."
Benjamin didn't say anything after. He watched the demon settle himself back under the covers, his face scrunching up in displeasure at something. It took Benjamin a while to fall asleep again, but when he woke up, Beelzebub was already getting dressed and ready for the day.
The two of them decided not to talk about what happened last night. It was fine for Benjamin. He didn't know if it was some sort of demon thing that just happens.
In the morning, Beelzebub took him back to his personal court and surprised the human with a seat up on the council.
Benjamin stood frozen, watching Beelzebub prance around with vigor as he explained how he built it. His spot was basically near Beelzebub, if not, a part of the lord's seat. Beelzebub was eager to comment that the two of them would always have fun if they were near each other.
Benjamin tried to protest at first, stating how it might be inappropriate for a human to get involved with demonic affairs.
The Lord of the Flies waved it off, not too concerned. The other members might judge them, but it's not like they can do anything about it.
