After enduring the dinner that felt like an eternity, Suho and Zuri decided it was time to make their exit. Zuri had played her part well, but her mind was a whirlwind of frustrations and anxieties that she couldn't shake.
Throughout dinner, her palms had been sweaty, and her scalp prickled with discomfort. Suho's brother had displayed an attitude problem that could eclipse the sun on a bad day, and Zuri couldn't help but wonder what his deal was. In contrast, Joon's wife seemed like the only beacon of normalcy in this eccentric family, although that wasn't setting the bar very high.
As they made their way to Suho's car, they exchanged glances, both knowing that they needed a moment to breathe. Suho's lips looked inviting, and Zuri felt an inexplicable pull toward him. It was as if her heart and mind were in a constant battle.
"So?" Suho began, looking deep into Zuri's eyes.
"So?" Zuri replied, mirroring his gaze.
In that moment, the world around them seemed to fade into the background. It was just the two of them, caught in a whirlwind of emotions and unspoken desires. Their hearts beat in synchrony, and an unspoken tension hung in the air.
Without thinking, they both leaned in, their lips meeting in a soft and tender kiss. It was a moment of connection, an unexpected spark of chemistry that sent shivers down their spines. The world seemed to disappear, leaving only the warmth and intimacy of their kiss.
Zuri couldn't help but think that sometimes, even in the most bizarre and unexpected situations, life had a way of bringing two people together.
They drove to his apartment, the streets bathed in a soft, amber glow. He led her inside, his heart pounding in his chest.
"What did you need to pick up?" Zuri asked as they walked inside.
"Uh, it's nothing, really," Suho replied, suddenly feeling embarrassed.
Zuri raised an eyebrow. "Nothing? Well, then, can I have some water? I'm a little thirsty."
"Sure, let me get that for you," he said, his palms sweaty.
He led her to the kitchen, and as she took a sip of water, her eyes scanned the room.
"This is a nice place," she commented, her voice tinged with admiration.
"Thanks," he replied, feeling a sense of pride.
"How come you're living alone, though? Where's your roommate?" she asked, curious.
"Oh, um, I don't have a roommate," he admitted, suddenly feeling self-conscious.
Zuri chuckled. "Seriously? You're lucky, I would kill for a place like this."
He felt a wave of relief, grateful that she didn't judge him. "I guess you're right. I like the privacy."
