The sun, low in the sky, bathed Suho's room in a gentle amber hue as he watched Zuri sleep. Her peaceful expression was a stark contrast to the chaotic emotions churning within him.
She looked beautiful, and he was beginning to develop feelings for her. Feelings that went beyond physical attraction and lust. Feelings that scared him.
He wondered how long he would go on with this whole fake boyfriend thing. But hey! It shut his mom up. Still, Suho had never met anyone like Zuri, and he could easily see himself falling in love with her.
A simple melody sounded from his cell, and he looked down at the phone, not wanting the sudden noise to wake his guest. It was Brett, his coworker. He groaned internally and got out of bed.
"Hey," Brett said in his usual awkward way.
"What's up?" Suho responded, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Look, Suho, I wanted to say that I know this is probably a little weird, especially calling you at this hour, and it's your day off but, you know, but the boss man has asked to meet with all of us in the conference room first thing, right at noon."
"You serious? On a Sunday? This better be good," Suho sighed in his frustration. "It's my day off, and I..." he turned to look at Zuri still sound asleep. "Is he really sure that he wants 48 all of us, because I..." Suho glanced down at his clothes still on the floor.
"Did you hear what I said? Because the boss, dude is not in a good mood, he doesn't know how we're gonna..."
"I heard you... Look, I'm gonna..."
Brett seemed to sense his distraction, he always did.
"Dude, who you got over there."
"Yeah...man I gotta go. But, uh..." He hoped Zuri wouldn't wake up yet.
"Don't you 'man I gotta go,' you ain't got to do nothing until noon...your in bed with your girl." Suho flinched a little at "your girl" but it's not like Brett was wrong, though technically it was his day off, and Zuri wasn't really his girl...yet.
"Anyways...Brett I have to get dressed. See you at work." Suho quickly hung up.
"Everything okay?" Zuri suddenly asked him from her place on the bed, causing him to jump.
"Uhhh...yeah, just work, it's fine, everything's fine." Zuri studied Suho carefully.
"Hey, look, I'm sorry about yesterday. With Jamal's funeral and everything," she started.
"No, it's okay. This has nothing to do with us. It's just my work. We gotta have a meeting first thing at noon, which is today, but uhhhh." He looked down at his clothes. He still needed a change. "Let's go grab breakfast real quick."
"Really, now?"
"Yeah, I have to meet the crew at work...quick."
She yawned.
"No time to waste, lets go... the French toast is good," he offered.
Zuri went over to his closet. "Can I borrow this shirt," Zuri asked as she reached for his Denim Patchwork Sweater that was way to big for her, but she didn't really have anything else to wear.
"Yeah, of course," Suho said. "What's mine is yours."
Zuri shrugged off the sweatshirt, exposing her underwear to him. He couldn't help but to pause a moment and admire her beauty. She put on the sweater, it reached down to the upper part of her thighs as she paired it with her black ankle boots.
Suho smiled in response, admiring the way the oversized sweater clung to her curves.
"That looks good on you," Suho said. Zuri shrugged as she played with her ring. "Maybe I'll just keep it." Zuri joked. Suho laughed in response.
