Aaron Burr sat at his desk, frowning and lost in thought. He stared out of the window, at the gray sky and the snowflakes that were slowly cascading down from the heavens. Theodosia, noticing his distress, came over to his chair and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"What's wrong, my dearest?" she asked, her voice soft but with a hint of worry underlying it.
Aaron sighed heavily and he sunk back into his chair.
"It's Alexander," he said quietly. "He's been struggling with his PTSD for quite some time now, and I fear for his wellbeing."
Theodosia nodded slowly.
"I know," she said sadly. "What can we do to help him?"
Aaron shook his head, his face grim.
"I'm not sure," he said. "He seems to be in a very dark place right now, and I'm not sure how to reach him."
Theodosia took his hand and squeezed it gently.
"We'll find a way," she said. "We'll do whatever we can to help him."
Aaron smiled sadly and nodded.
"Thank you," he said.
He looked out the window again, watching the snowflakes drift and swirl in the cold winter air.
"I just hope," he said softly, "that we can find a way to help him before it's too late."
Theodosia nodded and hugged him tightly.
"We'll do our best," she said.
They sat in silence, watching the snowflakes for a few moments, and then Aaron rose from his seat and began pacing the room. His mind was racing, searching for a way to help his friend.
Suddenly, he stopped and looked at Theodosia.
"I know what we can do," he said.
She looked at him, her eyes bright with hope.
"What is it?" she asked.
Aaron smiled.
"We can find a way to help him by visiting him," he said. "We can go talk to him, and see how he is doing, and if we can offer him any kind of comfort."
Theodosia nodded slowly, her expression thoughtful.
"That might be a good idea," she said. "It could be just what he needs."
Aaron nodded and they both smiled.
"Let's go, then," he said.
Theodosia grabbed her coat and Aaron opened the door, and together they stepped out into the cold night air. As they walked through the streets, the snowflakes swirled around them like a blanket of white, and Aaron's heart was filled with hope. He knew that he and Theodosia could do something to help his friend, and that the kindest thing he could do for Alexander was to be there for him and offer him support and love.
