“Wh—” Taehyung’s words were cut off by Mrs. Jeon’s voice calling loudly from downstairs.
“Jungkook! Come downstairs! What’s taking you so long? Is everything alright?” she asked, sounding impatient.
“Yes, Eomma, coming!” Jungkook replied quickly, flashing Taehyung a playful wink before leaving the room.
Left alone, Taehyung exhaled deeply, pressing his hand against his chest. His heart was racing so fast it almost hurt.
“Calm down, heart. Stop beating so loud,” he muttered, staring at the floor. His thoughts were a mess, and it only made him more frustrated.
“Aishh, and you had to wake up too,” he grumbled under his breath, adjusting his pants. “I need to fix this,” he muttered before heading to the bathroom to cool off and regain his composure.

At the dining table, the atmosphere was calm as Mrs. Jeon and Mr. Jeon sat side by side, with Jungkook and Taehyung sitting across from them.
“How’s the food, Taehyung-shii?” Mrs. Jeon asked kindly, breaking the comfortable silence.
Taehyung paused mid-bite, offering her a warm smile. “It’s delicious, Nonna. You’re an amazing cook,” he complimented sincerely.
Mrs. Jeon chuckled, shaking her head. “Oh, thank you, but I didn’t make it. Jungkook cooked everything himself. He wouldn’t even let me help!”
Taehyung’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, turning to look at Jungkook. “Really? Jungkook can cook now? When did this happen?” he asked, his voice full of genuine curiosity.
Jungkook shifted in his seat, his face turning pink under the attention. “I learned two years ago,” Mrs. Jeon answered for him, grinning. “He said he wanted to cook for his future husband and family.”
“Eomma!” Jungkook groaned, glaring at her.
Taehyung laughed softly. “Wow, that’s really impressive, Kookie. Your future husband is going to be very lucky,” he said with a wistful sigh.
