...which led to some sort of house in a tree. The door was open, so he walked right in and down the spiraling stairs. Right away he saw Zane and Kai kneeling on the floor. As Cole came down, he saw the white ninja's form hunched over as if in depression and Kai's hand on his back in attempted comfort.
"Zane? Kai? What's wrong?" Now he jogged down the stairs instead of walked. As he reached them, Kai looked up and made strong and sad eye contact with him. "What is it?" Cole prompted, nearly frantic with worry.
Zane didn't look up, he just slid the blueprint across the wooden floor towards Cole.

"What's this..." Cole picked it up and noticed drawings of a human body but with robot parts, then realized it looked a lot like Zane- "Oh my gosh-" he dropped the poster and his hand flew to his mouth. He knelt in front of his brother. "Zane, are you-" he stopped short.
"Yes," Zane didn't lift his head, but just barely nodded, and he opened his chest compartment for Cole to see.
"Ahh!" Cole gasped when he saw. A hundred thoughts rushed through his head at once. Was Zane still a ninja? How could we not tell before? How did he not know? Did he not know? Then he looked again at Zane's face, and realized that even though he was not human didn't mean he could not have very real emotions. It was plain on his face; Zane was devastated- more than devastated, even. There were tears running down his face. Tears!
Cole looked back at Kai, who acknowledged the situation with his expression. He took a breath in for confidence, then asked, "Is it ok if I hug you, Zane?"
The white ninja looked at him with beautiful, shimmering, sad blue eyes. "Yes."
Cole scooched closer to Zane, then wrapped his arms around him. At first he felt the droid tense up, but after a moment, he relaxed into Cole's embrace, even resting his forehead on the earth elemental's chest. They stayed like this until Jay appeared at the top of the stairs in a couple moments later.
"Hey guys, wait- are you guys ok? What happened?" Jay also heavily jogged down the stairs.
Heheh that's all you get. Sorry, I'm lazy. If you want me to write more let me know and tell me what you want.
Also sorry if it was complicated/confusing pronoun usage (because there's multiple "hims" so I have to switch it up when they're both doing action so you can tell who's doing what). Ugh. Writing is hard.
