Break, Burn and End

It was a Saturday night, a month and a half after the gem incident had happened. The group started to fade and go on their separate ways, no clues, no answers to what could've happened. Up until the middle of January where there was a murder across from Dani's house. The whole town was gossiping about it, it became big news. Still no suspects and no trace of anyone entering the house. Yet.

"Don't you think it's weird how there hasn't been a suspect for Mr and Mrs. Grochen's murder?" Dani asked as he was grabbing a handful of popcorn and stuffing it all in his mouth. Ali, Simon, Dylan, and him were having a four way call. Jackson was busy visiting family down in Miami, Florida. Dani loved horror movies, he was watching the 60's movie Psycho. The acting was so fake, but less fake than Kim K's butt.

"It's not weird. It's just impossible for them to find tracks of any other being in that house," Simon replied playing his XBOX, "besides, there have been many murders unsolved in this town." A cheer was heard on the other end.

"Have you heard about Matthew?" Ali asked, trying to keep the dead silence to a minimum.
"No, he's just been missing. As in, probably dead in a garbage can." Dylan replied.
"That's not nice." Dani commented.

Appearing on a milk carton was common in Dullsville, Maine. Some were found, some weren't. Ironically, their town name fits very well.

"I think I'm going to sleep, it's been enough already." Dani yawned and turned off his TV.
"Sure." They all said in unison and ended the call.
A lot has changed since the gem incident, which was around November. Now that February is almost finishing, Dani decided to become more fashionable, wearing HotTopic, Ralph Lauren, and most of all Forever 21. Shopping took his mind off the things he had experienced the last couple of months, things just looked blurry.

Waking up to his alarm, Dani excitedly got up and started getting ready for school. Putting on some tight jeans, his
Legend of Zelda sweater from HotTopic, and under his sweater a 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt.

Converse or Vans? Dani thought.
Vans it was.

"Hey mom," Dani said excitedly.

"Good morning sweetie," She replied happily while making her blueberry pancakes.

Dani ate some of the pancakes and hurried off the door right after saying goodbye to his mom. Walking to school was amazing when there was cold weather in Maine, the trees were getting it's color back and summer was just months away. Once he reached the sidewalk in front of his house, a police car pulled up on the side and got out of his car.

WHAT'D I DO? He thought and froze but before he could take another step he heard a shout.
"Hello there, Daniel." He greeted Daniel with a handshake and a card. "I'm Detective Mariani, is your mother home? We need you to come to the station and answer some questions."

"Y-yeah inside." He replied.

A couple of minutes passed until the detective came back outside.

"Get in the car, I'm taking you to the station," Det. Mariani said.

Without hesitation, Dani went inside the car.

Dani and the detective entered the interrogation room and asked Dani to sit down.

"Thank you Daniel for coming in."

"I had no choice," Dani gave a sarcastic smile.

"You are not under arrest and you may leave at any time you desire."

"Okay."

"Daniel, tell me, do you know Mr. and Mrs. Grochen?"

"Yes."

"What is your relationship to the victims?"

"We were neighbors."

"When was the last time you saw them?"

"January 17, it was my mom's birthday."

"Where were you the day before their murder?"

"Wait. Hold up. You think I murdered them, am I correct? Cause if I am, I'm telling my mom to contact an attorney."

"No, we are just trying to question those close to them. Everyone is a suspect, not just the neighbors."

"I think we're done here," Dani said and got up and left the room making his way to the main part of  the police station.

Great now I'm late for class. He thought.
