CHAPTER 54

~The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know~

*NAMJOON*

“Wait, Lisa told you guys those things?”

“Yeah.” Liam answered. “At first, we were suspecting her but turned out she knew nothing about the whole situation.”

“This isn’t right.” Namjoon said in a whisper, staring down at his phone.

“What happened? What did you find out?” Soo asked, sitting down beside Namjoon and handing him a can of beer.

“Thanks.” He collected the beer but didn’t drink from it. “They are twins.”

“Who?”

“Dohwa and Sumi.” He replied, playing with the can of beer.

“Wait… isn’t Dohwa Jungkook’s mother?” Soo asked.

Namjoon nodded his head. “Yup.”

“But why didn’t he tell us about her all this while?” She questioned.

“He lost his memory, remember?” Liam stated, rolling his eyes at her.

Namjoon shook his head quietly. “He didn’t forget about her…he only forgot that they were two.” He sighed, dropping the can of beer on the table along with his phone. “They are very alike…staring at Dohwa is the same thing as staring at Sumi.”

Soo stood up from the chair and went closer to the board and moved Dohwa’s photo to the blank space of the unknown. “That means we have been looking at the murderer all this while but didn’t know it.”

“They are two different people, Soo.” Liam reasoned out.

“Yes. But with the same face.” She said, going back to seat beside Namjoon. “What are we going to do now? Arrest Eva?”

“Question her.” Namjoon said, surprising both Soo and Liam.

“Why do we need to question her again?” Liam asked.

“Do you think she will tell us anything if we ask her any question? Of course she will deny it and probably run away so she won’t get caught. That girl is a bitch and a freaking psycho.” Soo said in annoyance.

“You can’t judge, Soo.” Namjoon said.

“Lisa said…” She began but Namjoon cut her off.

“Lisa was also part of our suspect list, remember?” He turned to look at Soo. “You suspected her, didn’t you?”

“Yes?”

“Why did you?” Namjoon asked.

She shrugged, thinking for an answer. “Because she looked suspicious?”

“What was so suspicious about her?” He asked again.

“Everything. Especially the necklace part.” She said.

“If she really told you everything…why didn’t she tell you about the necklace? Why didn’t she give you a good reason why she was wearing that necklace her ex boyfriend bought for his girlfriend, her colleague?”  Soo wasn’t able to answer. She just opened her mouth but no words left it. “Eva told me about that night…she said she wasn’t asleep when the gunshot went off. She said every maids were asleep aside from one person and when I asked her who it was…she didn’t say anything. She only asked me to protect the prince.”

“And?” Liam pressed on.

Namjoon turned his gaze to his direction. “Lisa never told me she was also awake at that time.” He collected the necklace from Soo and stared down at it. “When I found this necklace at the crime scene…I didn’t tell anyone about it aside from the prince…so who exactly told Lisa that the necklace was found there?”
