From the moment I was born, I was given a role. A part to play. A job to fulfill.

From the moment I was born, I have accepted these things with no questions.

I sat quietly and patiently while I was assigned more and more parts to play, more and more jobs to do.

More. More. More.

The gods are vicious. They are nasty. They are cowardly. They are corrupt.

But above all else, they are greedy.

And yet, even when I was a naive little girl, ready to give and give and give until I had absolutely nothing left, it got me nothing. Got me nowhere.

I used to be the greatest girl.

But the gods took too much.

And still, they will continue with their greed.

They will continue to drink from an empty cup.

They will take and take and take.

Until the cup shatters.

But I know the gods.

And I know that even once the cup has shattered, they will continue to lick wine from the shards.
