"So what you're trying to tell us is that our git of a brother ended up in the forbidden corridor on the third floor?" George said.

"I have to hand it to him." Fred sat back in his chair. "Not even we have made it up there yet."

"I wouldn't if I were you. They kept talking about this three-headed dog inside it." I warned them. Whether or not the twins would listen to me was up for debate. They liked adventure and mischief, but were smart enough to stay away if it was life threatening.

"Would we ever go behind your back after you told us not to do something?" George grinned.

"Yes."

Fred slapped his hand to his chest in mock horror, "Why I would never."

Hermione strode past me, shooting a glare at in my direction when she crossed behind me. It had been nearly a week since we had left for the midnight duel, but she hasn't let up in the slightest. Fred tapped on my arm and nodded towards a group of owls dropping a package in front of Harry. The package started to open under Harry's prompting but he stopped when another owl dropped a letter in front of him.

Harry seemed to be bursting with joy when he forced the letter over the table for Ron to read. The two boys whispered excitedly at each other before hurrying out of the hall with the package.

"What do you think that was all about?" George asked.

I nibbled on a piece of bacon and shrugged my shoulders. Whatever it had been had taken the boys' mind off of Malfoy for the moment. That was always a plus.

When the three of us had finished with our breakfast we gathered our bags to head to Potions. It wasn't my most hated class, and it surely wasn't my worst grade, but I would prefer not to take it.

"What are we doing for the Hogsmeade trip this weekend?" asked George.

"Oh – about that." I mumbled.

"What? Is Tomes and Scrolls going to take up too much of your time that you can't come with us?" Fred joked.

"Actually, Oliver asked me to go with him to Hogsmeade."

The sound of Oliver's name caused Fred to turn several shades paler then he already was. I blushed and looked down at the floor as we walked to the dungeons. There was already an expectation that they wouldn't take to the news well before I had told them. That was one of the reasons that I had withheld the information for so long to begin with.

"Of course Wood's already beaten us to our own best friend, Georgie. Guess we really shouldn't be surprised that she would pick the strapping lad over us." Fred grumbled.

"Oh, don't be that way! I've gone with you two to Hogsmeade loads of times already."

"But this is our first official trip to Hogsmeade. We weren't supposed to be going those other times." George explained.

"That is exactly right, Mr. Weasley. Trips to Hogsmeade are forbidden to those before their third year. Admitting to sneaking from the castle to go will result in detention."

The cold voice of Professor Snape seeped down the corridor behind us. I felt my senses freeze up at the sound. The twins didn't waste a moment to spin on their heels to face him. Their elbows prompted on both of my shoulders as they leaned towards me slightly.

"Oh come on Snape, would we ever do a thing like that?" George said.

Fred indicated towards me, "Especially with the student least likely to get in trouble in our year. I mean we wouldn't scoop so low to turn Emily here into a little rebel."
