A/N So I don't really have an excuse for being gone for so long. SO much has happened since I last posted, I don't even know where to begin. The major thing is I just felt that I had really backed myself into the corner with the last few chapters and then life got in the way. All I can say is sorry and move on. Honestly, I have almost all of books four and five done, but The Chamber of Secrets is my least favorite (sorry again to everyone who might consider it their favorite) and it's been really hard to get back to this. My writing style has also changed a lot, so editing these chapters in order to upload is an internal battle. I hope you guys enjoy it though!

Snow curtained the world outside of the window. I propped my feet up on Emily's bedside. A flower vase from one of the bedside tables flew back and forth through the room at my boredom.

"You know, Em," I said, allowing for my head to fall loosely to the side in order to look at her. "I'm getting real tired of these attacks. We'll figure it out though. With or without the Marauder's Map."

I reached into the pocket of my robes and removed a bag of candies. The bag crinkled when it hit Emily's bedside table. I dropped the sweater mom had knitted Emily (no one had the heart to tell her what had happened) and a book that I had gotten her next to the candies.

"Merry Christmas, Em. It's nothing compared to last year, but I'm kind of tight on money," I said without any reply. "And no, I don't expect anything back."

The silence that followed drew out a long groan I had been waiting to release.

"Classes are done for the term. Mum and dad went to Egypt to visit Bill, so everyone stayed behind for the break. Bill wants you to get out of this soon, too. You know, I'm getting real tired of this silent treatment."

"Don't you have someplace to be on Christmas, Mr. Weasley?"

Madam Pomfrey came over to rearrange all of the gifts at Emily's bedside. The amount of items normally there has significantly grown for Christmas. I stood up, stretching out my arms in front of me.

"I was just heading out. I know you'll miss me."

I shoved my hands into my pockets as I made my way up to the Gryffindor Tower. A cold air settled through the castle, making me retreat further into my sweater. I wouldn't admit it to anyone, but I hated walking down the corridors alone now. Could anyone blame me at this point?

George, Ali, and Lee all looked up at me when I crawled through the Portrait Hole.

"Just in time for dinner." Lee said, standing up to walk towards the Fat Lady's Portrait.

"Leaving already," I said, following out. "That excited to get away from me?"

"You're coming with us aren't you? Doesn't look like I'm getting very far away."

Christmas trees waited in the Great Hall. Tufts of snow fell around us with a welcoming, warm touch. I looked around at the mistletoe and holly overhead, trying to keep my thoughts from wandering off to Emily. George and Lee began to bellow the lyrics to the songs that Dumbledore led, prompting me to follow. The words felt hollow as they came out, but no one seemed to notice.

I nudged George with my elbow, raised my wand, and flicked it in Percy's direction. The word "Prefect" began to transform into "Pinhead". It was something to help lift the mood. Not the mood, I corrected, my mood. Our group of friends began to snicker at the sight. Hot flames snaked up Percy's cheeks when his demands for answers as to why we were laughing went unanswered.

I placed a piece of pie onto my plate and reached for a second one. My hand stopped midair. There was no one for me to give the piece to. George flicked his eyes between me and the pie, chewing on his food slowly.
