"Have you found anything?"
Hermione looked up at me from the crinkled pages of one of the oldest books I had ever seen. I looked around the shelves packed with books around me. Of all the places in the castle, I rarely ever stepped foot into the library. If I had ever even set foot in the library at all.
"What are you doing here?" Hermione asked.
"Seeing if you found anything. So," I pulled a chair up and put my feet on the table beside her book. "Did you?"
Hermione looked at my shoes in disgust. She slightly moved her book away from me with a lip curled. "Not yet, but I'm still looking. I thought you didn't believe in the Chamber of Secrets."
"I don't, but I do know that someone did that to Emily. If this helps to find them, then I'm in."
"Pick up a book then, and help me look."
"I don't know about that." I said, my nose crinkling at the sight of the stack of books beside Hermione. "Maybe I can just ask around."
"I've already asked Professor Binns, and he didn't want to tell me anything."
"If he doesn't know about it, then no one will. Binns has been here since the school was founded after all."
"He hasn't been. The school was founded centuries ago."
"What's the difference in a few centuries if he's no help to us? The real thing that we should be focused on is finding a potion that can help Emily. One of your books has to say something about potions."
"The professors are already working on a potion to help her."
"It's been nearly a week. I've had hiccough sweets that have lasted longer than that."
"I'm sure that the professors have all been working to figure out who's been doing this and how to fix it."
"Is that why your reading everything you can over what has been happening?"
"It wouldn't hurt to be well informed on the matter."
"Don't tell me that you've been studying. I've never seen Wood this angry."
George sunk down in the seat beside me. His face was red after what I wouldn't be surprised to be hours of Quidditch practice.
"You didn't go to practice?" Hermione asked.
"There were more important things to be done."
"You went to see Emily again, didn't you?" George asked. "If you didn't, then Wood will have your head for missing practice the day before a match."
"He'll have my head whether I went or not."
"Fair enough," George shrugged.
"What are you doing here?" Ron asked, sinking into a chair at the table. Harry took the seat beside him.
"Wood was looking for you."
"Must be popular today."
"Did you find it?" Ron asked excitedly.
George followed his eyes to Hermione. "Find what?"
Hermione looked at me as though debating whether or not to say anything. Her arm crossed over her bag to make sure that it was closed tightly.
"Will it help Emily?" I asked.
"I'm not entirely sure," Hermione admitted, looking down at the table. "I hope that it does."
"How can we help?" George asked.
"By keeping everyone's eyes off of us."
"Finally, our talents will be put to good use, Georgie."
