"It is good to see you again Olivia, It' been a while," the hat said. He hummed while going through my head.
"Yes, and maybe you can try to sort me into a house this time...I don't think -- I don't know if it's going to work this time." I whispered, the thought of having a conversation in my mind has always freaked me out. Especially when someone talked back.
"yeah, yeah, yeah, shut your pie whole. If it comes down to it then you can just pick."
"That's the problem....I don't know which house I want to be sorted into," I said and Mr. Hat sat right up, dramatically looked over the bottom of himself - locking eyes with me.
"What do you mean, you don't know which house you want to be in?!" Mr. Hat said out loud and everyone heard.
"I'm glad you want to tell the whole world what is going on inside my head but I would prefer...IF they STAYED in my head." I said through gritted teeth.
"fine...pick a house." Mr. Hat said, leaning back. Everyone started to whisper.
"I'm going to kill you. If you wake up and wonder why ladies with gills and a tail are looking at you...it's because you're at the bottom of the sea." I said and crossed my arms. the Hat pouted as well and let out a huff. I sighed and looked over at the twins....I took in a deep breath.
"Fine....Gryffindor." I said through my mind, I didn't want anyone to hear me, everyone leaned in waiting for my answer. My answer, not the hat's.
"GRYFFINDOR!" Mr. Hat yelled out and the hat was taken off my head. "you would be a great Slytherin though," he said to irritate me. I stuck my tongue out at him and he snickered under his breath. I turned to the Gryffindor table as they were cheering.
Taking a bow I made my way to the Gryffindor table. "Thank you, thank you, I love you all," I said and they all laughed. I ignored the strange looks of the first years when I walked past them and sat down in between the twins Fred on my right, George on my left. I held up my hands and they both high fived me. I couldn't help but remember the first time we met.
I was walking around, the new first years had come and been sorted a little while ago. I was 9 and I walked over to the Gryffindor table. Everyone was eating and laughing while the upperclassmen teased the first years. It was close to bedtime. The curfew was at 9, thinking this would stop everyone from being out so late. They had high hopes, I'll give them that.
The prefects started to lead everyone one to their house's common room. I followed along like I normally did, I had nothing to really do and the curfew...well what did they expect, this place had been my home forever and I wasn't a student - so I didn't actually have a curfew - but that didn't stop me from sneaking around trying not to get caught. Whenever Filch 'caught me' he just huffed and walked away. But not before I got to pet Mrs. Norris.
Just then I saw red hair walking in the opposite direction. Out of curiosity I followed after them. There were two of them so far I could tell. they ran around a corner quickly, Filch was walking this way.
They are so going to get caught, Filch turns that way every time. Not waisting a second I ran up to them. Filch's lantern was coming closer. The two red haired boys, obviously twins, looked at me weirdly, not sure what I was doing or what I was going to do. I grabbed their hands and started to pull them in the opposite direction they were heading.
"Come with me," I said, not giving them a choice.
They were about to argue and started pulling back.
