I don't own anything, only the plot. Enjoy!

PERCY'S POV:

I charged forward, thrusting my hands out and feeling that familiar tug in my gut. A large geyser exploded in the shrimpzilla's face.

"Percy!" Annabeth called. She pointed at the monster's underbelly. I knew what she was getting at.

I pushed a powerful geyser at its belly and it doubled over, stumbling back. It roared and started charging at me. Right before it could trample me, I ducked out of the way and shot a geyser at its back.

"Is that all you got?" I yelled at it. It made a bunch of chirping sounds, sadly, I understood. "HEY WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE, BOYO!"

Leo ran over to me. "What's he say?"

"Um... nothing." I said, then stepped on one of my geysers. I saw along trying to do the same, but didn't have enough control.

The shrimpzilla came running at me, but then suddenly stopped. I looked behind it to see Annabeth waving a shiny dagger to draw its attention. It slowly, as if hypnotized, stalked towards the blade, eyes widening.

"You want it?" Wise Girl taunted. It made a roaring sound, violently shaking its head. "Come get it!"

She threw her dagger and the shrimpzilla lunged for it. But I noticed something she didn't. Her shoelaces were untied and they were REALLY LONG shoelaces.

"ANNABETH!" I tried, but it was too late. The shrimpzilla's spikes got snagged on her shoelaces and pulled her down with it.

I lunged to grab her, feeling deja vu, and trying, but failing, to grab her hand. She disappeared under the waves. I jumped in, only to find that the shrimpzilla had buried underground.

"NOOO!" I yelled.

I resurfaced, coming up to the others.

"Percy..." Hazel put her hand on my shoulder, but I violently shook her off.

"GO AWAY!" I yelled, immediately regretting it.

Her eyes filled with tears and buried her face into Frank's shoulder. He looked at me, but I turned away, ashamed. I muttered an apology, and ran away from the group. Keefe put his arm around Sophie, Fitz looking jealous of his action.

I looked back at Hazel, who was still crying into Frank's shoulder. I felt my eyes well up, but I pushed the tears down. I will not show weakness. Not when my Wise Girl is in danger, possibly drowning.

I turned on my heels and ran over to the big, pink tree. I stopped and looked at Wynn and Luna, then continued on to a little ledge.

I sat down, looking at my hands. What have I done? I made Hazel cry. She and Frank were the ones who trusted me when no one else did. What kind of friend am I? Am I even a hero? Am I... turning into a monster?

Sorry for the short chapter. I was trying to get it in because I haven't updated in a while. I know I picked on Hazel a little, but... actually I have no excuse. I hope you enjoyed, BYEE!
