Y/N POV
It was Sunday afternoon, and I was on my way to meet Jimin for lunch. On my way out of the house, I noticed Taehyung sitting in the living room. I purposely ignored him and walked straight to the door and that's when he finally broke his oath of silence and voiced up.
And even then, the words he chose to utter were "where are you going?" He treats me like an outsider for the whole day and now he suddenly wanna talk? I mean the audacity of this guy!
No! he doesn't get to know where I'm going and what I'll be doing. So I rebuffed him and blazed out of the house.
He mentioned his parents' anniversary party which to be honest, I had totally forgotten about. But he doesn't need to know about that. So I quickly came up with a lie to cover my forgetful ass and later texted Sara to get me some clothes from the house.
As I reached the restaurant and got out of the car, I saw Jimin standing right at the entrance, waving his hand. I guess he just arrived as well. We shared a hug and made our way inside.
The waiter handed us the menu as we settled down. "So.....you wanna tell me what's going on with you?" He asked as the waiter took our order and left. I took a deep breath and started explaining everything.
Starting with our company's bankruptcy news, my mom almost getting shot, Kim's family's marriage offer, Taehyung, ending with an exhausted sigh.
Saying he looked shocked by the news would be an understatement.
"Okay, first of all, I'm so sorry that I wasn't there when you were going through all of this, Y/N" His eyes held genuine concern and seemed apologetic, though none of it was his fault. "It's okay, Jimin. You are here now" I said showing a small smile.
"Wow, this is actually a lot to take in. Very risky!" He spoke again, still wrapping his head around the whole thing.
"I mean, what about Taehyung? Do you guys.....umm....like each other?" He asked unsure, moving his hands like a weighing scale.
Now, that question caught me off-guard. So sudden, so unexpected. I struggled even thinking about it. I didn't say 'Yes, I like him', but I also didn't say No. Why? Why am I not able to say No? I was battling myself mentally with these questions when Jimin called out again.
"Y/N?" His eyebrow raised, asking for an answer. "Umm....we are actually focusing more on work right now than our relationship. Let's see" I shrugged my shoulders, acting coy and casual.
He nodded hesitantly, I could tell he wasn't fully convinced but thankfully he didn't press the matter too much.
At the same time, our food arrived and we both swooped in to taste it. Later, we talked about his trip to Busan. I got to know that he is building another NGO there and that's why he was gone for months. And the talks went on.
Taehyung POV
Getting ready in the evening, I reached my parents' house for their anniversary party. They held it on the rooftop, and have to say my parents went all out. The whole place was decorated with things that screamed luxury.
The place already looked a bit crowded and I found my mom at the center of it, speaking to Y/N's mom. I slowly made my way towards them while my eyes scanned the area around them, hoping to see a particular person.
"Hi son, where is Y/N?" My mom asked, completely ignoring my presence. That question also answered my curious conscience, which was so eager to see her. "So, she is not here yet? What kind of work does she have on a weekend?"
I was involved in my thoughts when my mom slightly nudged me since she didn't get any reply.
"You know mom, even I exist on this planet" I commented sarcastically making Y/N's mom laugh and caused my mom to hit my arm.
