I was standing behind the counter and he sat at the table as I made my coffee, "Those men came back..." I began, breaking the heavy silence that filled the room. My demeanor was a little more serious than before, "They broke into my house."

Hyunjin sat up straight and had a worried look on his face, "They came back?"

His worry allowed me to put a more genuine smile on my face, "Don't stress yourself out over this. They never found me before the police arrived."

Still uneasy, Hyunjin stood up and started pacing back and forth, "Why is your head wrapped?"

"I scratched it while hiding."

His breathing was beginning to quicken as his thoughts raced through his head, "I'm sorry, Y/n. I'm so sorry," He began, looking me in the eyes. I stared into his eyes and could feel the pain that was in them.

Walking up to him and placing my hand on his shoulder, I assured him, "You did nothing though. Why would you be apologizing?"

He took a deep breath before shaking his head, "I should leave. It's late."

I had a puzzled look on my face as he walked to the door, "Ok then. Have a good night and make sure you get some rest."

The door shut before I could finish and I was left in silence. It left me confused by the way he seemed so riled up, but it also worried me.

Hyunjin POV

I left her room in a hurry and walked out of the building to get some fresh air. I sat on the steps, staring at the sky. The air was slightly chilly and the small breeze gave me chills but I was already much calmer.

The only sounds that could be heard were the cars passing by or the public in the distance from the busy city streets. I wasn't sure how long I was out there before someone sat beside me, placing a jacket on my shoulders.

"If you sit out here without a coat you'll get sick," her voice calmly stated as she sat next to me. I smiled to myself as I felt the warmth of her body sit close to mine. We sat in silence together as we both stared at the sky.

Everything seemed perfect in that moment. The bright city lights beaming over the tall buildings surrounding us, obstructing our sight of the stars above us. Sometimes I want to escape to the outskirts of the city just to stare at the stars I am unable to see here, but now it doesn't matter to me.

"What made you want to become a doctor at such a young age?" I questioned, looking at her side profile as she gazed into the empty atmosphere. Her hair rested against her cheek as it was slightly blown by the breeze. Her face seemed so calm as if she didn't have any worries in her life, Although her whole life had been altered drastically in the past month, she still seemed to never worry about anything.

"I graduated high school when I was fifteen and my mom pushed me into college to become a doctor. I never really knew what I wanted to be. This is all I ever knew so I just understood to enjoy it." She spoke as if she had no regrets in her past.

Her words caused my brows to furrow in confusion, "You didn't choose to be a doctor?"

She shook her head, "Nope, basically everything I've done was based on my mother's words."

I nodded because I could understand why she would want to please her mother. It's normal to make your parents proud, but sometimes it's good to make your own life decisions.

There was more silence until I spoke again, "Why did you help me that night?"

She took a moment of silence before speaking, "I couldn't leave you out there all by yourself. It wasn't something I could live with if I did."

My eyes brightened, "You are a good person, Y/n."

She turned to me, meeting my gaze, "Everyone is if they try to be."

I smile and nod because her words are the truth, "I guess you're right."

She stood up and held her hand out for me to stand up as well, "I don't know about you, but I need some sleep."

Standing up, I followed behind her into the building and we went our separate ways.
