It was raining heavily and thunder boomed across the sky. All I had was an umbrella and I was trying to hurry home from work. I knew I should have taken the bus but I didn't want to wait for it.

Suddenly, I saw two men walk out of an ally and they both nearly bumped into me as they passed me. But I saw that one of them had a knife in his hand and my eyes widened.

The sound of groaning caught my attention after they passed. It was coming from the alleyway that the two men came from. I tried to stay quiet and hidden as I peeked my head around the corner. My eyes widened at the sight. A man was lying on the ground and he was covered in blood.

Without thinking I hurried over to him and used my umbrella to shield him from the rain.

"Are you ok sir? I'm calling for help." I assured, pulling my phone out of my purse but he stopped me. He grabbed my phone from my hands and threw it away.

"No. Just leave me." He groaned out, attempting to sit up. My brows furrowed in confusion and I quickly picked up my phone before it got too wet, and thankfully it wasn't broken.

When the man failed to sit up I pushed on, "Please let me help you."

"No."

I ignored him and got to his side so I could wrap his arm around my shoulder, "Do you live nearby?"

The man shook his head and I sighed. I don't know why I am even bothering to help after I saw those other two men walk away from this.

"My house is right down the road. I'm bringing you there. I'm a doctor, don't worry." I had to drop my umbrella so I could focus on holding up his weight. His feet were dragging along the ground as he let out hisses of pain at every step.

Once we reached the front of my house I set him down on the doorstep so I could unlock the door. Looking back down, I saw that he had fallen unconscious. Without me knowing what happened to him this makes things a lot more difficult.

"No, No, No. Sir, I need you to keep your eyes open." I tried to tell him, gently tapping his face. When he didn't budge I picked him up again and dragged him to the couch. His limp body was heavy and I nearly landed on him when I placed him on the couch.

When I stood back up my legs gave out and I fell to the ground in front of him. I groaned because my body was way past its limits due to being overworked and exhausted.

I just got off of a twenty-four-hour shift at the hospital with only three hours of sleep in the past two days. My body ached and I needed rest.

Huffing back the exhaustion, I stood back up and looked at the man in front of me. He needed to change out of his wet clothes or he would get sick. So I hurried to my room and grabbed the largest hoodie I owned along with some sweatpants.

When I changed him I dressed his wounds and wrapped up his whole torso in bandages. He had three stab wounds in non-fatal areas that I easily stitched up and covered. After I dressed him I covered him with a blanket and adjusted his pillow.

It all took about an hour but when I stepped back to finally take a good look at the man I took in his features. They were breathtaking. He had long black hair that was still slightly damp and I could tell that he was a beautiful man even though he was covered in bruises. It made me wonder if he had a modeling career. But what model would be attacked in an alleyway and left to die?

Walking into the kitchen I started a pot of coffee before finally changing out of my clothes. I knew I wouldn't get much sleep tonight either because I was not just going to let this man sleep here without keeping an eye on him.

I took a quick shower and threw on some sweatpants and a T-shirt before coming back down and pouring myself some coffee. I grabbed my laptop from my work bag and decided to check my email while I sat in the chair next to the couch.

It was about seven in the morning when I decided to get up and make breakfast. While I was cooking I called in to work and said that I had a family emergency and that I would have to come in later. They kindly understood and let me take my time off.

I only made eggs and toast cause I needed to go grocery shopping soon. When I came back into the living room with two plates the man was now beginning to stir in his sleep. I set his plate on the coffee table, sat down in the chair next to the couch, and began to eat.

When he sat up he looked around confused but didn't notice me right away cause I was behind him.

"Don't freak out. You're in a safe place." I assured, standing up so I was in his view.

He slightly jumped at my voice and looked at me with wide eyes, "Who are you? Where am I?"

I picked up his plate and handed it to him, "I'm a doctor and you're at my house. I found you last night with some serious injuries." I spoke softly and with a calming tone. He only stared at the plate in my hand and shook his head.

"You need to eat. Last night you lost a lot of blood and energy and you need to gain that energy back."

He pushed the plate away from him, causing me to drop it and it shattered everywhere. Ignoring what he did, he attempted to stand up but failed and fell back to the couch.

I took a deep breath and continued to be patient with him, "As you can see, you can't go very far so please just eat. I'll make you something else." I assured and began to pick up the pieces of glass.

Once I cleaned up I made him a bowl of ramen because that was all I had. I set it on the table in front of him and sat down on the ground on the other side.

He was cautious but he soon gave in and began to eat. I sat patiently and just tried to get an understanding of this man.

When he finished he set the bowl down and we locked eyes.

"So, what is your name?" I questioned.

He stared at me for a minute before leaning back onto the couch with a groan, "Hyunjin."

My eyes widened in shock because I was surprised he even answered me.

"Well, Hyunjin, what happened to you last night in the alley? Why did those men hurt you?" I got straight to the point, but he didn't seem to like that because he sat up and this time he forced himself to stand.

"I have to be leaving." Was all he said as he struggled to the door. I stood up and tried to assist him.

"You shouldn't be walking yet, Hyunjin." I attempted to grab his arm and help him stand but he pushed me away. It was a hard push too. I hit the back of my leg on the corner of the coffee table and fell to the floor with a hiss of pain.

He didn't even spare me a glance as he put on his shoes and left. I was sitting on the floor, confused and hurting.

Who the hell is this guy?
