3. Road trip

I was tired, so very tired. Yesterday morning Matty woke me up at 6am wondering why he wasn't at Uncle Fernando's which left me to explain I took him back to my hotel room after the Gala due to him falling asleep in Lando's arms about 5 times because he was unable to wrap his tiny head around the situation.

Then when he finally did decide he understood what I was saying, more questions came soon after when he found Lando still fast asleep on the sofa where he stayed fast asleep till 11. I had time to drop Matty off back at my Uncle's and go shopping for an hour, I did leave a note on the coffee table beside him incase he woke up but he clearly needed the good nights sleep.

The only reason he even woke up was because I accidentally dropped a bunch of cutlery on the floor when trying to grab a spoon for my cereal. I didn't want to really wake him as he looked so peaceful but the cutlery definitely had other ideas.

After he went back to his own hotel room at midday I then found Rach in her room connected to mine in the same dress from the gala. Apparently, she slept in Pierre's room because she was scared of waking Mateo and I up as she didn't get back to the hotel till 1am.

Rach and I then went for dinner to discuss the events of the Gala which led us into a deep convo with lots of red wine and then somehow me falling asleep on my hotel room floor at 2am. Which due to being so uncomfortable led me to wake up at 5am where I realised I wasn't even in pjs so changed into pjs and went back to sleep - on the bed this time - until 8am when I woke up to pack my things to leave for Bilbao in 3 hours.

It is now 10:30, Rach informed me last night before we got drunk on wine that Pierre was too joining us on our trip to Bilbao which I was more than happy with. I was likely going to invite him anyways or I'm 99% sure he would have murdered me if he found out he wasn't involved.

We were all sat in the hotel restaurant as we had to check out at 10, and when I say all I mean Rachael, Lando, Alex, Lily and I. Pierre is god knows where and George I know is saying his goodbyes to Carmen because she had to go to London for the rest of the week so unfortunately couldn't join us.

"Chances Pierre turns up after 11?" Alex asked Lando with a small wiggle of his brows like a creep.

"If you say 69 Lando I will murder you," I spoke up before Lando could even answer which left him to look defeated. "Anyways, whatever your guess he is now walking over," I added as I spotted the Frenchman heading over to us. "And where have you been?"

He sat down beside Rach before answering, "I woke up late," usually I'd question him when he would say this when he's late to something we've planned in the past but I could tell this time it was actually true. His hair was all over the place and even his beard somehow was all over the place.

"Now we wait for George," Lily sighed as she looked at the time. It was only 10:45 so he still had about 10 minutes before we wanted to start packing the cars up to get ready to head off.

We had decided yesterday in the little group chat we had made that we'd take my car as it's quite big and I actually own it and not just renting it for the week and then also George's Mercedes G-Class for the same reasons. Rach, Lando, Pierre and I would go in my car and George, Alex and Lily would go in George's.

After about another 5 minutes George turned up and apologised for being a little late which we were all fine with, we know how much he hates saying goodbye to Carmen for even a few hours let alone a week. It's adorable if I'm honest, I'd love to have something like them one day.
