MARIA

"Mi sobrina, no podría estar más feliz por ti," Fernando spoke as we walked up the driveway to my little cottage. (My niece, I couldn't be happier for you.)
"Gracias, mi tío," I then opened the door to be met with laughter and most likely chaos and one of the rooms in my house ruined.
Why I have let 8 of my dearest friends stay in my house I do not know. Including me there is somehow 9 of us squeezing into my small cottage.
I'm just glad my family still own their home on the outskirts of Northampton because there is no way I would have been able to fit my parents, Mateo and Fernando as well in my home.
As it is, poor Max is sleeping on an old air mattress in the living room whilst Pierre and Rach have the sofa bed. Alex and Lily had the largest guest bedroom, then George and Carmen in the smaller one.
Lando and I were in my room which was rather tidy but the second he arrived it looked like a bomb of clothes had gone off. I made space for his stuff in my wardrobe but he seemed to prefer screwing all his clothes on the floor for some reason.
"We're back!" I shouted as I took off my shoes and began walking through the house and into the kitchen.
Most of the boys were supposed to be at their team factories the next few days before Silverstone but have decided to take a bunch of the meetings they had remotely. Lando and Oscar I know had to go to the McLaren factory tomorrow though for some simulator work but I'm not too sure about the others.
I had a very full house today, I had of course the ones staying at mine. Then Fernando, Oscar and his Lily and my parents and Mateo said they'd pop by later on for a bit.
I was surprised to hear they were staying in England for a few weeks even after the race, not that I was complaining though of course.
"How many broken items do I need to bin?" I asked George as I came and stood by his side near my kitchen sink.
"Just one... Pierre and Alex had a pillow fight and may have broken a lamp," he laughed as everyone scurried into the kitchen from the living room.
"My little girls are growing up so quickly," I pouted walking over to Alex and Pierre and pinching their cheeks. "I'm just surprised only one item was broken."
"Well, you were only gone for an hour. I reckon if you gave us another 30 minutes we could have made it about five items," Alex beamed.
"You break, you pay," My uncle then said joining in the conversation.
"If that's the case I probably owe Maria about ten grand," Rach smiled as Fernando just shook his head at my friends.
"And the rest," I began grabbing out all the stuff Fernando and I had grabbed from the shop out of the bags.
George kindly helping me along with Carmen who had just walked in, "where are the other children?"
"Playing the kids version of scrabble and Lando went and took Kai out for a walk... he left about 20 minutes ago," Carmen answered as I looked at her confused. I have never owned any version of scrabble so where the hell did they get that from?
