Gossip Girl

As per Gossip Girl's thanksgiving tradition I'm trading in my laptop for stovetop. And for the next 16 hours, the only thing I'm dishing is seconds. When the cat's away the mice will play. Have fun little rodents.

Thanksgiving- last year

"I mean, who gets wasted on thanksgiving?" Blair questions as she escorts a very drunk Serena and I out of the bar and onto the streets. "These two girls!" I yell. "Well, the holidays are lonely for people. We wanted to keep them company." Serena tells Blair before putting her arms up and letting out a loud yell of excitement and spinning around. "Your mom is freaking out so my mom is freaking out." Blair informs us. "What, so you freak out too?" I question. "Yeah, come on, cut the cords. Go nuts. Let's do shots." Serena suggests as she holds onto Blair's arms. I nod my head in agreement but Blair just pushes us both away from the bar doors, "I told lily you two were buying a pie." "Oh, pie." Serena stops. "That's a really good idea. Let's get one." I say enthusiastically. "Serena, where is your purse?" Blair asks after she observes that it is missing. "Uh... my purse." Serena thinks for a minute. "Oh, great." Blair sighs. "Maybe you left it in the first bar, or the second, or the third, or the..." I begin to suggest but Blair cuts me off, "You guys stay here, okay? I'm gonna go look inside of this bar. Don't drink or hit on anything. Both of you." Blair warns us before leaving us unattended to try and find Serena's purse. Me and Serena are left alone for a few seconds before she begins to drag me across the road and a car honks its horn at us as they almost run us over. We continue to cross the road and we don't realise that there is a taxi that is not going to stop for us and is about to hit us. Then, suddenly, we are pulled out of the road by this boy and the taxi driver shouts out to us, "Hey, what are you doing?" And the boy replies back, "Hey, right of way, pal." Me and Serena continue walking and this boy calls out to us, "Hey, excuse me, do you need, like, a crossing guard or a cab maybe?" As he says this Serena flags down a taxi and just before we are about to get in she notices his smushed pie in the road that he dropped whilst saving us, "Oh, pie." "More like roadkill now, but better it than you two, right?" He laughs slightly, "I'm Dan Humphrey." He introduces himself. Me and Serena say "Hi" and smile at him. "I don't know, we met last year. You might not remember. Yeah, you probably don't, but you should be more careful." He says talking to Serena now. "You need to keep your hands off of her." Blair tells him as she puts her arm around Serena. "Blair!" Serena excitedly greets her. "Trying to take advantage of her on the holidays. Come on, let's go, Serena." She says as she drags Serena into the taxi. "So..." I start talking to Dan. "You too Eva." Blair calls from inside the taxi. I pout my lips sadly and make my way into the taxi too. "Bye, Dave!" Serena calls before we drive off.

Thanksgiving- now

I'm sat in the car with Serena and Willow is sat in her car seat next to me. Serena is on the phone to Dan and I'm making silly faces at Willow which makes her giggle. "Bye." Serena says as she ends the call with Dan. "Everything good?" I ask her. "Yes, everything's great. Dans got a full house for thanksgiving so he's very busy." She tells me. Just then we pull up at Blair's and we get out of the car. We walk into Blair's and it is very busy with lots of kitchen staff preparing thanksgiving dinner. "I have to find the recipe before dad gets here." Blair says as she sits down next to me and Serena at the kitchen island with a large recipe book. "Harold Waldorf's famous pumpkin pie." Serena says with excitement. "Well, it may have been Bobby Flay's but didn't stop my dad from taking credit for it." Blair tells us. All three of us laugh slightly at her joke before Blair begins to flip through the many pages of the book. "It gonna be perfect." She squeals. "Look at you. Quite the chipper sous-chef." Serena comments. "Well, can you blame her. She excited to see her dad after not seeing him for a while." I say to her. "See Eva gets it and I can be in a good mood you know. Sometimes I increase my Lexapro, sometimes my dad is in town." Blair smiles. "And sometimes, mostly, because things are good with a boy." Serena continues on, "you and Nate get back together?" She asks her. I suddenly tense up at the mention of his name. I know Blair got pretty upset about that photo but I don't think she knows it was me hugging him. "You mean since Gossip Girl published pictures of him and some skank?" Blair replies. "So that's a no." Serena acknowledges, "what's Chuck doing today?" She asks changing the subject. "Why are you asking me?" Blair questions. "Well, you guys are friends. And, Blair, look, you know you can tell me anything. I'd be the last person to judge anyone." Serena assures her. "With good reason." Blair snaps back. I can tell that Serena knows something and I think this conversation may be easier without me here. "I will be right back in a minute. I just need to go to the bathroom." I say excusing myself from this situation so they can chat alone. I walk away carrying Willow and head to the bathroom and I just sit there for a minute thinking to myself but then I'm brought back to reality when Serena calls out. "Eva! Come on, we're leaving!" I hurriedly run to the kitchen. "What going on?" I ask her. "We aren't doing thanksgiving here anymore so we are going home." She says as she walks out towards the elevator. "Happy holidays, Eleanor." I say to Blair's mother with as smile as I pass her to leave. Well, that conversation must have not gone well.
