Trina rapidly pressed the elevator button as she became impatient at its slow arrival. She adjusted the bag on her shoulder as the elevator opened. She stepped back as residents left the elevator until one stood at the door of the elevator avoiding it from closing. "Trina," She heard the familiar voice as she took steps to enter the elevator. She looked up to see Christian. "Christian," She whispered, baffled at the male's presence.
She hasn't spoken to or seen Christian since the break between her and Spencer began.
"I'm in a rush," She cut him off as he went to speak. She felt guilty when she noticed the way his face fell. "Right, right" They switched positions and stared at each other for a moment. "We need to catch up. We haven't spoken or met in quite some time," Christian voiced as he held the elevator again. Trina nodded, "I will explain, just...give me some time," She muttered.
Christian nodded as he backed away. His eyes roamed her face. She was avoiding eye contact and being distant.
"Sure. Drive safe," He voiced softly. Her head lifted and for a split second — they made eye contact before the elevator broke it. Trina swallowed the knot in her throat as she stared at the steel.

"Spencer?" Esme called out as the male left his room. He paused in his tracks as he looked at the female, who sat in the door of the nursery. He gulped as he stared at the toys that were piled in the storage container before glancing around the partially vacated room. "Can I get some help?" She asked softly as she peeked through her lashes to look up at the standing male.
Hesitantly, Spencer agreed. He entered the room, dragging an empty container to a separate corner from Esme as he began packing all of the essentials stored specifically for Ace. "You haven't spoken to me since the funeral," Esme initiated conversation after some time. "What's there to talk about?" Spencer mumbled loud enough for her ears. "A lot," She copied his tone and stopped her movements — placing her attention solely on him.
"You know, I thought we made it to a good place — we moved on from the past that I allegedly had and found a common ground to become friends. With that said, I feel hurt that you...not once comforted me during everything that happened," Esme eyes were stuck on Spencer's back as she carefully chose her words through her unhurried speech.
A full minute passed before Spencer spoke.
"We did make it in a good place..." Spencer told her shortly before taking a few seconds to continue his response. "But we were never friends...Esme, what you've done is not alleged — you did everything that you were accused of and hurt many people." He voiced as he kept his back turned. "So, you're basically saying that I deserve this?" She accused making Spencer turn around swiftly. "Don't put words in my mouth, I never said nor insinuated that," He pointed at her, baffled. Esme sighed, standing to approach him. "All I'm saying is that we both lost Ace and it would've been — would be better if we had time to grieve...together," Esme exaggerated the tremble in her voice as he feigned hesitancy in her steps.
She made it before him as he remained seated with his sight elsewhere. She kneeled in front of him, "Why is that so hard to ask?"
Spencer looked at her, her teary gaze scanned his face. He stood as she inched closer. "Who's going to comfort me??" She loudly spoke as the male walked away. "Laura and Kevin only returned for the funeral and off they went to continue to look for your father — who's either dead or doesn't want to be found! Everyone surrounds you and comforts you but fuck Esme! I'm the mother who lost their child yet everyone continues to villainize me!" Her voice raised as tears fell down her face.
