Quinn's POV
_______________

[Freshman year]

It's my first day of freshman year and oh my gosh let me just tell you, I'm so excited and scared at the same time. I feel like I want
to vomit and dance at the same time. Mom was really stressed out about my first day. But then again she's always worried about everything.

My dad and his partner and best friend volunteered to tack me to school, since they were both assigned to my school for the morning shift. Basically what that is, is police are assigned to a school to make sure people are safe. My new school North high (North is actually in Omaha but just pretend) has an assigned cop already but apparently he needed the day off so my dad volunteered so he could take me.

I agreed to go with him, because I'd rather get out the back of a cop car than my moms SUV. Mainly because she would do something and embarrass me. Don't get me wrong I love my mom and dad but I was definitely a daddy's girl. My parents have been fighting a lot lately. So dad and I would go to Shane's house most nights and stay there till morning. He didn't mind though, him and Dad were always hanging out anyway they were almost like brothers.

I got into the back and we started driving. Once we got there dad opened my door, but I hesitated. It was scary to meet new people but even scarier to start at a new school for that matter.

"You okay pumpkin" I haven't noticed dad looked a little concerned. "I'm fine it's just, I don't know, what if I embarrass myself or worse what if I don't get good grades or make any new friends". Hearing me say this dad seemed a bit at a loss for words, don't get me wrong he's great with words and all it just he's not the best with school stuff. I mean after all he did only make two Friends in school, my Mom, and Shane.

Seeing my dad's loss Shane comes around the car and bends down beside me. Lifting my head slightly to meet his eyes. "Hey now you listen here, okay. No matter what happens after you get out of this car and walk into those doors doesn't matter. What matters is that you are safe and protected. And no matter what other people think of you, good, or bad. It's what you think about yourself that truly matters for it."

A small smile spreads across my face as I nod. With that I stand up grabbing my bag into the process hugging Shane and my dad, before I ran to go into the school. Once I was inside the school I saw many other students and teachers in the halls. This school was giant and beautiful at the same time. I walked around for a bit till the bell rang and then went to class.

My first class was Life time wellness which is kinda like a gym class and it counts as a pe class as well. It's kinda weird how the scheduling is we have 8 classes but only do 4 in a day they split them into 2 groups, A and B day. But because the law says students have to be at school for 6 hours a day that means classes were longer, each class is an hour and thirty minutes to be exact.

About ten minutes into class the teacher finally walks in. "Alright everybody sorry I'm late. But I'm here now so let's get started shall we" said a deep enthusiastic and cheerful voice, drawing me away from my phone screen. I look up and find a tall man with a beard and mustache standing there. I felt like my stomach had done a flip and my heart had jumped out of my body.

I just sat there staring at him with heart eyes until he spoke up again after taking a quick glance around the room. "Oh come on guys let's have some fun and add a little spice to this class".

Wow I was so blessed to have such a handsome gym coach.

Hey y'all the first few chapters are just background chapters for more insight into their past.

Also the actual storyline probably won't start for about 4 more chapters.

Also the picture is a picture of the actual North high School gym. And most of the school related stuff is l based off of the tow high school I've attended.
