The Get away ch. 10

It's been a few hours since the fight, I pretended to be asleep on the floor when Negan came back in. I had a plane and I was determined to go through with it. After Negan had gone to sleep I found a backpack and snuck out of the room without him waking up. After I was out in the corridor I started running down the hall to the first floor.

Once on the first floor I ran to the workers chambers, more specifically to Shane's room. Once I got their I started knocking frantically on the door. "Shane, Shane wake up buddy" I whisper yelled throw the door.

After a few more seconds the door opens revealing the tired yound boy rubbing the sleep out of his eyes with messy brown hair a white shirt and pajama pants. "It's time for work already but I wanna sleep." Hearing him say this I gently yet hurriedly pushes him into the room. Frantically I began putting some of his things into the bag that might be a value or use.

"Quinna what are you doing?" Shane says in a tired voice as he looks at the woman rushing around the room and throwing things into her bag. "I got to get you out of here. Come on pack your things we're leaving tonight. I'm going to get you somewhere safe." Said the woman frantically as she looks towards the shane.

"But where are we going to go? Does Negan know?"

"We're going to go back, to my home, Alexandria. And no matter what you cannot tell Negan, he cannot know about this"

With that being said Shane not his head and runs towards his dresser pulling out a photo and some clothes. After a few minutes they have everything they're going to need she grabs his hand and they run towards the exit sneaking out the back gate where no one's going to see them. Once out of the back gate they run into the forest.

It's been about 4 and 1/2 hours and the daylight started to peek through the tree line. They've been walking since they left the compound. After looking around, Quinna stops and looks over at Shane.

" Well rest here for a bit then we'll start walking
again.Alexandra is about a two-day walk from here."

Shane doesn't say anything except nodding his head as takes a much needed sip of water. Admiring the surroundings around him he sits down pulling a photo out of his jacket pocket. Corner takes notice of this and comes in sits next to him admiring the photo in his hand. That's a picture of a nicely dressed middle-aged woman wearing a pink top and blue mom jeans with her hair up in a ponytail. The man next to her is a taller man probably in his early 40s till late 30s with dark brown hair a slightly crooked nose a green t-shirt and gray khakis with a crooked smile. In between the two is Shane wearing a goofy grin a brown shirt and black jeans. And next to him a smaller child with blonde hair blue eyes and a lovely yellow flower dress.

Looking over she sees Shane with small tears in his eyes. The tears slightly trickled down his face hitting the picture and sliding down to the dirt below them.

"Is that your family? What happened to them?"

"We were at the hospital visiting my grandma at the beginning of all this. Walker's got in, my grandma told us to run. My little sister was scared and we didn't notice that she stayed with her. So my dad went back to get her, he got her out but she was bit. We took her with us hoping we'd find help. One night we didn't notice she turned, and she bit my dad we couldn't put them down. So my dad took her away. They went off into the woods. She was four. After that me and mom came out here to West Virginia, and found the saviors. My mom was part of the soldiers, she's got shot down on the job. I've been a gardener ever since"
