I woke up to my mom taking the bag of chips out of my bed.

"What'ya doing?!" I said in my morning voice.

"Cleaning up your mess, missy," she replied, "you better hurry up and get dressed, we leave at 6:00 at night."

I looked over at the clock. 8 o' clock A.M. I rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom and turned the shower on. I hopped in and took probably the shortest shower I've ever taken. I walked into my room and look in a box of clothes. I picked out my favorite blue Victoria's Secret hoodie, sweats, and a plain white tanktop.

"Emily, Jc's here!" my mom called me from the bottom of the stairs.

"Come on up!" I yelled.

I heard him run up the stairs.

"Cute outfit" he teased.

"Oh I know right?" I teased back, "who do I have to impress?" I laughed.

I walked back into my bathroom, leaving Jc in my room, and threw some mascara on. I didn't feel like even wearing that today. I put my hair in a quick side braid. That was always my go-to hair style when I was being lazy. I walked back into my room.

"Ready to go?" I asked Jc.

"Ready when you are," he said with a smirk.

We slumped down the stairs, half dead from tiredness. When we got in the taxi van, I had my favorite blanket and put it over the two of us. I had my pillow pet with me too. I couldn't help but take a nap with it. My mom and Michael were in the front of the taxi but me and Jc were in the very back. Not too long into the almost full day of driving, me and Jc drifted to sleep. When we came back to, we were at a truck stop in god knows where. The two of us got out of the taxi and went to the vending machines inside only to run into mom and Michael smoking their cigarettes by pay phones. I rolled my eyes at the both of them. I always thought smoking was disgusting. We all gathered back into the van, including the driver. I was bothered by myself because I never learned his name this entire time.

"Mom how much more traveling left?" I said with a snotty attitude.

"about 4 hours," she replied.

I looked at the clock realizing just how late it was. 2:00 A.M.

"Holy shit," I whispered to myself.

"Excuse me?" Mom said.

I didn't reply. I just looked at her, knowing she would realize that I knew it was wrong. I dozed off back to sleep.
