CHAPTER 8

[Clio's POV]

I don't know if I should be happy about what I've been seeing since our conversation. Since she cried in front of me, it's like she's returned to her old self, and even with Lau around, she doesn't seem to care. The Sofia I used to know, the one who loved to tease. With Lau's help, I know that Iris is gradually being replaced in Sofia's life. Whether she admits it to herself or has simply forgotten, I know she's falling for her. But I'm still worried for her. However, I've decided to set aside my concerns for now. What's more important is seeing her happy again.

"They look good together, don't they?" Tiffany said, seemingly giddy as she watched Lau drive away after we had Sofia join her. That girl can be silly sometimes. She seems to have forgotten that she doesn't have a car.

"Yeah, they do, right? I just noticed, even though Ice used to tease her, I can see the chemistry between them. But wait! As far as I know, she doesn't act that way with someone she doesn't know well, unless..." Rain said, covering her mouth, while I grinned knowingly.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe it!" Tiffany exclaimed in disbelief, and the look of astonishment on her face didn't escape me.

"Wait, do you guys know something I don't?" she asked, shifting her gaze between Root and me.

And because this girl is persistently nosy and thrifty, we couldn't help but tell them what we've noticed about Sofia. Especially after the encounter with Lau's ex, though I didn't mention seeing Sofia stab someone. She screamed and squealed for them. And Rain just smiled as she listened.

Because if there's anyone who wants to see Sofia happy, it's Rain and me. We were there when she got hurt. When Iris was with someone else. We were the first to see it, which is why I couldn't help but leave. Because I felt so much pain for my friend. At that moment, I wanted to kill Iris. But I couldn't, so I just went home and entrusted everything to Rain. I know she couldn't stop it, and she saw Iris' flirtation. 

"Oh my gosh! They really match. Even though she won't admit it, I know it's there. Finally, she's in love again. But still, I can't imagine it's Lau, of all people, who's making her feel this way. The one who's so annoying to her," Tiffany said, still in disbelief about what she heard from us.

They knew Sofia was in love, but they didn't know with whom. Because if you didn't know, Iris, Sofia, Rain and I have a gang group called Cuadros. Even though our group is famous, most people don't know about it, especially since Sofia and I wear masks. The other two have stopped wearing masks, so they get into more fights than we do.

If you're wondering why Root knows about it, it's because we were at the mall together one time. Sofia suddenly called, saying that Rain needed backup. So, I panicked and headed straight to the underground. I forgot I had someone with me that time. And there, Root bombarded us with questions. We couldn't do anything but tell her the truth. At first, she went hysterical with what she heard and saw. But later on, she accepted it, and we kept it a secret from others.

"Well, I won't be surprised if one day Lau has a heart attack from too much excitement. And she's really like that, always teasing," Rain chuckled.

"Wait, how do you even know Lau?" Tiffany asked her. Yes, it seems like she knows Lau well.
