Allison's POV
I looked into his eyes when I realised it. He never said it back. He had me under his control that I never realized he never told me he loved me too. Here I was, standing in front of a man that I loved, knowing he doesn't return those feelings.
"Shall we begin?" the man, I guess will marry us, asks.
"Yes." Isaac says with authority, and I knew, there was no way out for me. With my hand held in his, we stood in front of a pseudo-pastor, who will make me sign my life over to him. I will be his until the day I die, I knew this. This was it. He would make me his and also a part of the mafia, a life I could never escape.
"Do we have a witness?" The pastor asks and Immanuel appears, his eyes meeting mine and I saw a little empathy in his eyes.
"Yes." He states, taking his place behind Isaac.
"Make it quick." Isaac impatiently demands, his eyes never leaving my face, staring intently at me.
"We are gathered today to celebrate the union of Isaac Moretti and Allison Handerson. We are all here to support this commitment as they decide to spend their lives together..."
I don't listen to anything he says after that, trapped in Isaac's stare as I am simply a figure in his game called life. The "ceremony" never even mentions the word love once, showing me what my life will be like.
"Do you, Isaac Moretti, take Allison Handerson as your lawfully wedded wife until death do you apart?" The man asks.
"I do." There was not even a second of doubt, showing me, he really wanted this.
"And do you, Allison Handerson, take Isaac Moretti as your lawfully wedded husband until death do you apart?"
This was it. The moment I will sign my life over to a man I barely knew. It all started in this house only weeks ago. I knew I could say no and still be his wife, because Isaac will find a way. But the way he started at me didn't leave me a chance.
Dressed in a simple dress, with a strange man marring me and my future brother-in-law as a pathetic witness to make this official, I answer, "I do." As the words leave my lips, I feel like a hand is being wrapped around my throat, slightly choking me as a sign that Isaac now had the power over my life.
"With the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Isaac doesn't has to be told twice as he pulls me towards him and steals his kiss, not caring that he was being watched. He kissed me like he owned me. Which I then realized, he did.
-
We went inside, the pastor left without a second word and Immanuel simply congratulated me before fleeing the house. All the staff congratulated me as well, emphasising my new last name. Mrs. Moretti. I nearly chocked when I heard it, but the sadness inside me took over quickly.
"I'm going to bed." I announce quietly, knowing Isaac heard me still. He didn't say a word, not that I cared. I went upstairs and into the room I remembered. There were no sheets on the bed, a sign that no one expected me to sleep here. I had a husband now, I should sleep in his room. Well fuck my husband. He was a monster. Not thinking twice, I curled up on the mattress and started crying.
It was already late with the time difference, so I eventually fell asleep. But hours later, I stirred awake, finding myself in Isaacs arms again, being carried into his bedroom. Only when he covered me with a blanket and pulled me against his body by my waist, did I say something. "Your own wife doesn't even want to sleep with you in your wedding night. Does that even make you feel anything?" I spotted him, only seeing him a heartless person.
