Allisson's POV

Immanuel brought me a coffee, thankfully waiting with me. It was weird being here with all these scary looking men curiously having a look at me whenever they passed. Immanuel told me they knew I was their boss's fiancé, to which I told him that we aren't getting married. Immanuel only answered with the offer of a coffee, since we had been waiting for a few hours already.

"Do you know what happened there?" I eventually break the silence, wanting to know what had happened to get me here. Immanuel sighs heavily, but the speaks up.

"We have a lot of enemies and now that it is public knowledge that Isaac found his wife, they made you their target to hurt Isaac. The Russians planned to attack you that night, but a spy of ours luckily informed us, so our men could prevent you from getting hurt." His words were a lot to take in.

"Didn't Isaac know?" I wonder, since I knew he wouldn't usually let anything happen to me.

"No, we didn't have time to reach him. Luckily we got there in time." He smiles, but I could see the worry in his eyes. "Don't worry too much, okay. He'll make it."

"How can you be so sure about it?"

"As he said, he's still has to marry you, right? He won't miss that." He chuckles, but doesn't manage to lighten my mood. "Look, he took that bullet for you, knowing he'll survive it. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't trust me taking care of you, so he'll do his best to get back on his feet to be there for you again."

"What do you mean? You taking care of me?" I was confused by this.

"Well, you see if Isaac dies without having a son, I'll be next in line to take over the mafia. And in case he might die, you will still be under the mafia's protection. His order." I didn't know that, but it made my heart feel a little warmer, realizing that Isaac thought this far ahead to protect me.

"You know what I find really strange?" I try changing the topic to something less sad. "How you and Isaac are so different, even though you are both living such violet life's." I tell him.

"Yeah." He nods. "Isaac had always taken life a little too seriously, but that's probably for the best in his position." We both chuckle at that. "Our father always expected a lot from him and he always made him proud with his strict views in life. That's just him." He shrugs. "But you changed him, you know?" It wasn't the first time I heard this, but I did put a smile on my lips for the first time. "He's happier since he's found you." That was nice to hear.

"He isn't too bad himself." I smile, thinking back to the three words I told him before he was rushed into surgery. I never even had to think about doing the right or wrong thing, I simply spoke my feelings. Loving Isaac had been my biggest fear since I met him. I knew this was his intention, but I never thought it might become reality. But now I knew I got what he wanted. His constant affection, his confidence, the feeling of protection he caused within me, his affirmation, the confidence in myself actually made me love him.

Saying that wasn't hard. I thought it would be, seeing how I never said that to a man before, but with Isaac, everything was different.

"Mrs. Moretti!" The doctor suddenly appears in the doorway, making us both look up. He had no emotion on his face, making me look over at Immanuel in fear. He simply nodded and stood up, so I follow him. "Mr. Moretti is out of surgery, and everything went well." The doctor doesn't elaborate, only nodding at the both of us before he leaves.

"Let's go." Immanuel leads the way towards Isaac, apparently knowing where he was. He led us down a long hallway, passing some doors, but I was only focussed on getting to Isaac as soon as possible. "That's it." We come to a halt in front of the last door in the hallway. I want for him to head inside, but he doesn't, simply turning towards me.
