Allison's POV
It was a beautiful winter morning and I loved how I never had to freeze in our home. The only strange thing this morning was being the only person in the larger-than-life king-size bed. No man, no kid. Just me, wrapped in blankets. Combine that was a heavenly silence in the house, I started to get worried. Getting a robe from the bathroom, I walk downstairs and start looking where everyone is.
Silence wasn't a constant in my life anymore. The house, as big as it is, was always filled with noises. When I reached the playroom downstairs, I let out a sigh of relief when I found my baby-boy. "Alex, honey, what are you doing in here all alone?" I ask my favorite little boy, my heart warming when he lifts his hand up and I pick him up, cuddling him.
"Daddy said, I'll get a boat if I stay quiet for half an hour." He smiles at me, looking proud for his achievement. I wasn't happy but also not surprised hearing these kinds of negotiation from my three-year-old son.
"Didn't you get a boat for your birthday, buddy? The red one?" I ask, remembering how happy he was when he got to play with his remote-controlled boat when we were in Italy, celebrating his birthday.
"No." he giggles, playing with a strand of my hair. "I meant a real boat." He tells me and I widen my eyes. "Daddy said it'll be as fast as a car." He awws and if I weren't angry with Isaac, knowing he would really get him a real boat, I would probably laugh at his cuteness. Alex, short for Alexandro, was a spitting image of Isaac. His brown hair, dark green eyes and handsome face. But he also got a lot of Isaac's personality, which I love. My husband on the other hand...let's just say, he often has to bribe his son into doing things. Alex never did anything his father tells him to do. At least that's what Isaac says. In my eyes, Alex was the perfect angel. Always nice and kind, tells me I'm pretty, helping me with things. In general, Alex just copied whatever Isaac was doing, essentials simply treating me like the queen herself.
"Let's discuss this later, shall we?" I kiss his head, loving how her cuddles up in my arms. "Should we go find Daddy?" I ask him and feel him nod against me, so I take a second to cuddle with him before looking for Isaac. I head down the corridor and hear his vice coming from his office. I was surprised since it was a Sunday, and pretty early in the morning. When I reach the door, Alex is already asleep in my arms, so I take my time admiring my man. Looking better than ever as he talked rapid Italian, looking out the window over the ocean with his little baby girl sleeping peacefully in his arm.
With his constant talk about the importance of skin-to-skin for babies, he almost never wears a shirt after work. You probably know how hard it's been for me to keep my hands off him. Especially since I had our first daughter. Amelia is four months already and has her dad wrapped around her tiny fingers.
My first birth was easy, only taking about four hours. With our second child, I endured contractions for about 20 hours before I got rushed into surgery because our baby wasn't doing good. Thankfully everything went well, and we took our beautiful daughter home with us a few days later. Since then, Isaac has been holding her constantly, always thinking she could be in a bad environment, feeling lonely or whatever.
I simply enjoyed my time with her, all tiny and cuddly, having her close to me. When Alex lets out his usual mumbling sounds when he sleeps, Isaac notices our presence and immediately closes the distance between us. "I got to go. Let's discuss this Monday." He hangs up and is quick to kiss me good morning. "Hi, baby."
"I didn't get much sleep last night." I whisper, not wanting to wake the kids.
"Nothing will change tonight." He simply tells me before kissing me properly, making me forget everything for a while. The sound of an unhappy baby makes us break our kiss and I lean down to greet Amelia and see she was hungry. "He's getting too heavy for you, baby." Isaac tells me when he takes Alex to carry him to his bed and I can sit down to feed Amelia. When he's done, he comes back into the kitchen, filling a glass of orange juice for me, which I gladly accept. I loved these simple mornings like this. Enjoying time with my husband, taking care of my kids, it was just so peaceful. "I'll be gone tomorrow, baby:" he tells me. Usually Isaac works from home, but when I started to get uncomfortable with strangers walking in and out of our house when they came to work with Isaac, he decided to get an office. This was safer for the kids and me. Sadly, I couldn't see him throughout the day anymore this way.
