Aurelia had settled into her new life in Seabrook with remarkable ease, mainly due to her close friendship with Eliza. The two had become inseparable, spending the majority of their time together. Aurelia found Eliza's strong-willed personality highly entertaining and admired her practical approach to life.

Over time, Aurelia began to feel more at home in the bustling school environment. While she still felt a bit out of place among her peers, she had learned to navigate her way around. The passing of time even brought a sense of belonging.

During a lunch break, as Eliza and Aurelia walked down the corridor towards the cafeteria, they were approached by two exuberant zombies.

"Eliza!" one of them exclaimed, while the other spoke in Zombie, which Aurelia couldn't understand.

Aurelia's attention was immediately drawn to the charismatic pair. Zed, the epitome of cool, exuded an irresistible charm. His vibrant, moss-green hair contrasted with his pale, undead complexion, and a mischievous glint in his dark eyes hinted at his confidence. Zed's athletic build, honed from playing football, added to his appeal. He sported a unique fashion sense, mixing retro and contemporary styles, often wearing a jacket with patches and ripped jeans, showcasing his rebellious spirit. Despite his undead state, Zed's infectious smile and quick wit made him instantly likable.

Beside Zed stood Bonzo, his loyal and slightly eccentric best friend. Bonzo's appearance was both endearing and quirky, with unkempt, vibrantly green hair and soft brown eyes that radiated curiosity. His clothing choices were eclectic, featuring mismatched patterns and bold accessories that highlighted his vibrant personality.

Despite his disheveled appearance, Bonzo's warm-hearted nature and unwavering loyalty made him a dependable friend.

The boys practically pounced on the Zombie girl, eliciting a giggle from Aurelia. Her laughter caught the attention of the Zombie who spoke English.

"Well, hello," he said with a grin, "you must be the new girl Eliza keeps ditching us for."

"That's me."

"I'm Zed." He extended his hand for Aurelia to shake.

"Ari," she greeted.

"Pretty name for a pretty girl." She pulled her hand away, sporting a half-smirk.

Eliza interrupted with a playful smirk, introduced the other boy. "Ari, this is Bonzo," she pointed to the one who had spoken in Zombie.

He raised a hand in greeting, which Aurelia returned.

"Can't believe you've been hiding your new friend from us," Zed teased Eliza, bumping her shoulder with his.

"Maybe I didnt want you to run her off." Eliza fired back.

"Oh don't worry about that." Aurelia said jokingly. "You cant get rid of me that easily."

As they made their way to the cafeteria, they chatted amongst themselves about various subjects, none of which made much sense to Aurelia.

The Zombie Trio's casual conversation included light banter, political debates, music preferences, and gossip about classmates. On the rare occasion when one of them tried to include her in the conversation, she politely nodded and smiled. Every now and then, she was forced to speak. Once or twice, her comments received appreciative laughs.

"So what do you do for fun Ari?" Zed asked, changing the subject.

"For fun?" she replied. "Well..." She hesitated briefly. "At my old school I did archery and fencing." She paused for a moment, "I was the captain of the cheer squad too."

This caught the zombies attention.

"You were a cheerleader? " Zed exclaimed, "Like on the sidelines at sports games cheering everyone on?"

"Yeah... that's the one." Aurelia answered, unsure if she should elaborate further.

"Why didn't you try out for the team here?" Eliza asked curiously.

"I couldn't be on a team with someone like Bucky, he's way too intense."

Eliza let out a chuckle, "You aren't wrong about that."

There was a commotion on the other side of the cafeteria, catching the groups attention.

It was some cheerleaders.

One of the girls had pushed another, followed by some arguing between the two.

"Looks like trouble in paradise." Eliza commented.

Zed looked uncomfortable, he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

"You okay Zed?" Aurelia asked, pledging a gang on his shoulder.

"Yeah I'm fine," He looked down, a frown in his face.

"The blonde is Addison," Eliza explained, "She and Zed kinda had a thing. Bucky made her choose between the cheer squad and zombies."

Aurelia frowned, "And she chose the cheer squad."

"Its not a big deal," Zed said, standing up. "I'm gonna head to class. I've got some work to catch up on."

"See ya," Eliza responded, waving.

Aurelia stared at him for a few seconds, frowning.

"Is he going to be okay?"

"Zed's tough," Eliza told her, "He just needs some time to himself."
