Ch. 45

She was in the garden when she heard the alarms. Her heart stopped for a moment, fearing another confrontation with Gaston's persistent son.

Then she heard the howls.

The familiar howls.

She couldn't help the smile that made its way to her face.

"Secure the princess!" She could hear the guards shouting over the chaos.

"Are those zombies?" Aurelia shook her head, a small chuckle escaping her lips at the terror filled voice.

Aurelia made her way back into the Castle, calmly making her way through the chaotic corridors. Guards completely overlooking her, despite her being the person they were searching for.

She slipped into the ballroom, hoping to escape the pandemonium.
She made her way to the middle of the room, her mind replaying all the times she watched her parents dance. You could always feel the love between them when they danced.

Her brother had found that same love with Mal.

Her thoughts turned to the green haired boy that had stolen her heart. Would they have the type of love her parents had? The type of love her brother had with Mal?

She took a deep breath, "I know it might be crazy,"

"But did you hear the story," Her heart stopped at the familiar voice.

She continued, her voice trembling slightly, "I think I heard it vaguely,"

"A Princess and a Zombie."

Aurelia took a deep breath, then turned to face the boy who consumed her thoughts "Oh, tell me more, boy. Sounds like a fantasy, what could go so wrong with a Princess and a Zombie?"

Zed's face held a huge grin, "You're from the perfect paradise," he motioned to the room around them. "And I'm livin' on the darker side"

She shook her head, trying to hide her smile. "Ooh, I got a feeling if you get to know me."

He took another step towards her, "Right from the start you caught my eye, something inside me came to life."

She took a step towards him. "Ooh, I got a feeling if you get to know me."

Her stopped in front of her. "Someday, this could be, this could be ordinary,"

"Someday, could we be something extraordinary" Her eyes locked with his.

"You and me, side by side,"

"Out in the broad daylight,"

"If they laugh we'll say... We're gonna be someday."

"Someday, someday."

Zed raised his hand to her cheek, caressing it, "Girl, you look delicious. Oh, I mean gorgeous"

If it was possible her smile widened, "Well, now you're getting fearless"

Her took her hand in his, pulling her closer to him, "No, I'm just rooting for us,"

"If different was a superpower, we'd be so flawless" The two were so absorbed in the others presence, they hadn't even noticed the people that had entered the room.

"Yeah, we could make these two worlds ours," Adam brought Belle closer to him as he watched his daughter, a smile on his face and he listened to their words, "I'm rooting for us"

"Two lonely hearts meet in the dark. Imagine it now, they start a spark." Ben and Mal stepped up beside Adam and Belle, watching the couple below intently.

"You got my attention. What happens next, then?" Ben had seen his sister happy many times, but it had never reached her eyes the way it was with this Zombie boy.

"Movies and long walks in the park. Hanging out anywhere we want.."

"I like the way you're thinking, I can almost see it."

Ben coughed, trying to gain his sister's attention. She met his gaze briefly, before turning back to Zed.
"So let them talk if they wanna."

Zed looked over his shoulder, catching the eyes of the king of Auradon, the older brother of the girl he loved, "Let them talk if they're gonna."

"We're gonna do what we wanna." Zed pressed his forehead to Aurelia's.

"Let them talk, let them talk. If they wanna, they wanna." And she closed the gap between them.
