Reader's POV

"As such, Lyney and Lynette are officially declared "Not Guilty."

Finally it's over. I did not know how long it has been ever since we got locked into the Opera by the Gardes, but it was long enough for me to start missing my small house and my usual coffee/tea break (It's not like I had a normal routine for these breaks, but they were good either way).

I laid back on my chair and let out a sigh of relief. After we successfully located Liliane before the twins' trial, I knew the rest would go smoothly. From Liliane's intel, we could make out the full story. It was quite the twist. I was present at some of these trials every now and then, but I never thought that it could be such a huge rollercoaster of words and emotions.

At least, now it's over.

I stood up when I saw Paimon and the Traveler coming down from the balcony. I decided to say goodbye to the blond adventurer and his companion, because I was pretty sure that after this mess he wanted to catch a break as well and get out of the Opera as fast as he possibly could.

"Paimon could've never guessed that being a detective would be this tiring..." - I heard the traveler's small friend's exhausted rant. She quickly noticed me and threw me a quick "Hi Y/N!"

I waved back with a smile in return. "Well, It's really over isn't it? What a day..."

"Yeah, personally I feel like I could sleep for while..." - Aether stretched.

"I'm with you in that one my partners!" - Navia made her way to us, stepping into the conversation.

Lynette sighed. "Yeah... most definitely."

Aether smiled to the group. "I think we will go and rest for a bit now. I'll see you around?"

"I mean, I'm a reporter so you bet you'll see me around." - I said, returning the smile.

In the end, Navia decided to go with the two travelers, because she was also quite tired and she also mentioned something about another case she wanted to talk about with them?.. Probably something I shouldn't get involved in, so I just nodded.
After that, it was just me and the twins who were still in the opera.

"I guess I should go as well." - I said, turning to the twins.

Lynette had her usual expression on, while crossing her arms. His brother on the other hand...

"What about our dinner?"

"Oh jeez... How could I forget..."

I did not know what to say. I was feeling extremely tired. Sure, I did want to have dinner with Lyney, that's for sure, but just the thought of staying awake for one more hour makes me even more exhausted.

After about 20 seconds, he smiled softly and broke the silence. "Understandable. Worry not, there is another day tomorrow."

"Sorry what-?"

This was embarrassing, but he did not seem to care at all...

"We can still go for it tomorrow if you are tired. It's past midnight after all"
(A/N: Yes I'm aware that the trial was held during daytime, but it's for the sake of the atmosphere, trust me ;) )

"...Oh wow, you saw right through me." - I gave an awkward smile. In return he laughed and smiled confidently.

"Oh but ms/mr/mx Y/N, I'm pretty sure that seeing your visibly tired but beautiful expression, then coming to the conclusion of you being a little sleepy is not that much of a hard job."

"Was that meant to be a compliment or an embarrassing comment? I can't tell..."

"Ah- Thank you?"
