Author pov:
Six months had passed since Jiah was gone, and the seventeen guys found themselves constantly looking at empty spaces, hoping for her figure to miraculously appear.
Even though Jiah was only a spirit who came into their lives for that one year, her presence had a profound impact on their lives. With her disappearance, it felt like a piece of their lives was missing.
One day, the guys gathered at a restaurant for dinner. They chatted normally, updating each other on their work and lives over the past three months. They had all been busy, trying to distract themselves from the pain of losing Jiah.
"Wonwoo, didn't Hani come with you?" Jihoon asked, breaking the conversation. He had overheard Wonwoo and Jiah's short conversation at the beach but hadn't mentioned it until now.
"Why would she come with me?" Wonwoo replied, puzzled.
Jihoon raised an eyebrow and said, "Didn't you get back together?" He recounted the conversation he had overheard.
Wonwoo sighed, finishing the last of his beer. "We didn't... I couldn't accept her with someone else in my heart."
"Wonwoo, it's okay," Seungcheol said, patting his shoulder in a comforting manner.
"Seungcheol... it really hurts, but I couldn't control falling for her," Wonwoo admitted, tears streaming down his cheeks.
The other guys looked at Wonwoo with concern, realizing the depth of his feelings for Jiah, which he had tried to suppress after Seungcheol's advice.
Wonwoo eventually calmed down, and the guys continued to eat and discuss other topics. However, their attention was piqued when they heard the word "Princess" coming from a nearby table, a term some of them used to address Jiah.
"Princess, you have to share the food..." a man at the neighboring table whined, drawing the guys' attention to their direction.
"Heheh, BBQ food is amazing," a girl sitting with the group replied cheekily, her back facing the seventeen guys.
"There's more here; don't start fighting," another guy at their table added. In total, there were seven guys and one girl seated there.
After a while, the group finished their meal. The girl put on her mask and stood up, casting a brief glance in the direction of the seventeen guys' table before leaving the restaurant.
Wonwoo pov:
Jiah used to like BBQ food and all. I couldn't fulfill my promise to offer her BBQ food as we didn't manage to find out where she stayed.
After paying for the food, I stepped outside, waiting for the guys to finish up and join me. While waiting, I sat down on a bench next to a girl wearing a mask, lost in my thoughts with tears welling up in my eyes.
"Here," The girl beside me said and passed me some tissue paper.
"Thank you." I took the tissue and thanked her and quickly wiped my tears.
The girl smiled and offered some words of comfort. I looked into her eyes and realized she had the same crescent moon shape when smiling, just like Jiah.
Probably feeling awkward from my intense stare, the girl looked away and coughed slightly, clearing her throat.
My eyes widened when she took off her mask to drink some water.
"Jiah.." I called out in disbelief.
