"Hello, P'Apo, where are you now?" Sila spoke as soon as the other party picked up.
(Almost there.)
"Okay, P', hurry up."
(Do you miss me?) Apo's tone sounded flirtatious, making Sila notice it right away.
"What do you miss?" Sila had to sigh out loud.
(So mean to me,) Apo whined.
"I'm more worried about missing the auspicious time. It's almost time," Sila replied excitedly.
(Got it; I'm rushing there now.)
"Okay, drive safely," Sila said before hanging up and stuffing his phone into his pants pocket.
Today is another blessed day in the lives of these two people. Because it's the day that will allow them both to truly start building their lives together properly. Which will add more stability to the futures of both Apo and Sila. Sila has been staying here since last night because there were many things that needed taking care of. And he had to get up early this morning to prepare himself and the venue. Sila was worried that if he stayed home, he might show up late and not get everything done on time. So he packed clothes and spent the night here.
He swept and mopped the first floor until it was sparkling clean. He set up the worship altar at the very back, along with preparing all the necessary items for making big merits this morning. He also laid down mats and cushions for the nine monks to sit on. Right now, the monks have already arrived at the venue. But he didn't do this alone. He had two assistants helping him.
Karn and Tehchin drove here yesterday evening at 4 p.m. They helped prepare the place and the necessary items before going back home around midnight. This morning, they rushed back here again at 5 AM because they saw Sila working alone without any help. Since Apo was working late and had to stay out late, the two of them immediately came as soon as Sila messaged them. And as expected, because Apo worked late into the night, perhaps due to exhaustion, he ended up waking up late this morning, later than intended.
Sila was quite worried that Apo woke up late. He feared that Apo wouldn't make it in time for the auspicious moment that he had carefully researched and obtained. As many people know, Apo is obsessed with astrology and fortune-telling. No matter what he does, he has to check horoscopes, pray, and ask sacred objects for blessings every time.
Especially so for today...
The grand opening of Apo and Sila's new business
AS Studio & Academy
It is an entertainment company and performing arts school that Apo decided to open so Sila could also participate in managing it. So why did Apo decide to start this business? To explain simply, after graduating and working for many years, Apo tried asking Sila to quit working and just stay home. To focus on doing housework and cooking for him - that would be enough. Because Apo didn't want Sila to have to work too hard. If his darling wanted anything, Apo would get it for him. He'd have money every month to spend as well, so he wouldn't have to struggle to work hard. But Sila refused because he didn't want to just spend money meaninglessly day after day. He didn't want to feel useless. He felt he had abilities. He wanted to work and earn money. He didn't want to shamelessly ask Apo for money like that.
For this reason, Apo had to find a solution to resolve this issue without the two of them fighting. That solution was to start his own business. So that Sila could come work at this company under his oversight and control over everything. Because he also didn't want Sila going out and about alone outside.
It was partly because he worried...
But another reason was that he was possessive.
He wanted Sila to be within eyesight at all times. Not because he didn't trust Sila. But because he didn't trust those people who would approach Sila when Apo wasn't with him even more, It's because Apo loved Sila so much. He had raised and nurtured him well over all these years.
How could he let just anyone get close to Sila so easily?
