"I hope Jungkook's here to pick us up."

Y/n felt a flutter of anxiety in her chest at the mention of Jungkook. She couldn't help but wonder if he'd be as captivating and charismatic as she remembered him, or if her feelings for him had only intensified over the years.

The two friends disembarked from the train and were greeted by the familiar sight of Busan's bustling station. Y/n scanned the crowd, her heart racing, hoping to spot Jungkook's familiar face among the throngs of people. But as the minutes ticked by, he was nowhere in sight.

"Where's Jungkook?" Ella asked, her brow furrowing in concern.

Y/n bit her lip, trying to act nonchalant even though her insides were churning with disappointment. "I'm not sure, Ella. Maybe he got caught up with something. We can call him."

Ella pulled out her phone and dialed her brother's number. After a brief conversation, she hung up, looking both relieved and exasperated. "Jungkook's on his way, but he got held up at work. He'll be here soon, so we should head outside and wait for him."

Y/n nodded, relieved that she'd have a little more time to prepare herself emotionally for their reunion. As they walked toward the station's exit, Y/n couldn't help but wonder if this Christmas trip would be different, if she'd finally find the courage to let Jungkook know how she felt.

Outside the station, the cold, crisp air hit them as they waited. Y/n watched the traffic pass by, her mind racing with thoughts of what the days ahead might hold. The familiar scent of the sea mixed with the holiday spirit of the city, creating a sense of nostalgia and anticipation.

Finally, a sleek, black car pulled up in front of them. The window rolled down, and there he was - Jungkook. He had grown even more handsome, his dark hair falling perfectly over his forehead, his deep brown eyes filled with warmth and familiarity.

"Sorry for the delay, girls," Jungkook said with a smile as he stepped out of the car. He hugged Ella tightly and then turned to Y/n, giving her a friendly, brotherly hug. "Y/n, it's been too long. How have you been?"

Y/n tried to hide her emotions beneath a warm smile. "I've been good, Jungkook. How about you?"

He shrugged, a glint of weariness in his eyes. "Busy with work as usual. But I can't complain."The trio climbed into the car, and Jungkook expertly navigated the city's streets. As they drove through the familiar roads of Busan, Y/n couldn't help but reminisce about their past visits to this place. There had been laughter, late-night talks, and countless stolen glances that Jungkook would never know the true meaning of.

During the drive, Ella chatted animatedly with her brother about their plans for the holidays and their upcoming family gatherings. Y/n listened, occasionally interjecting with her own thoughts, all the while stealing glances at Jungkook when she thought he wasn't looking.

They reached the Jeon family mansion, an imposing structure nestled on a hill overlooking the city. The grandeur of the house was overwhelming, and Y/n had always felt like a fish out of water amidst the opulence of Ella's life. It wasn't just the mansion; it was the extravagant parties, the luxury cars, and the sheer extravagance that was a part of being a Jeon.
